Dear Reader Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) Quote With more than a week until it hits the big screen, the movie has surpassed $100 million globally in advance ticket sales, according to its official distributor AMC Theatres. These revenues encompass all showtimes, locations, and circuits playing “Eras Tour,” not just AMC. Edited October 5, 2023 by PopA911 1 3

Goaty Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I’m confused - “advanced ticket sales” would be for any of the weeks purchased, right? So why is Variety comparing that 100M total to opening-weekend numbers for films released this year? Only a percentage of that 100M will be for opening weekend, no?

They're saying that the film is bound for a $100M opening weekend, hence the comparisons. These projections have been floating around long before the record was broken.
