Michael Myers refuses to flop. Why?

47 years after his debut album, he gets booked and offered extensive contracts with more projects to come. Everyone was SO SURE he was over and would retire after Halloween Ends but yet he refuses to give up and and he's coming back to sleigh us even more. Why is he so successful and in such high demand?

Discuss.

McDonald’s of movies; charts not the arts; fast food that makes a person go badly to the bathroom but continue to buy and eat it anyway because of addictive properties. He’s not popular for good reasons.

Also, Illuminati.

All he does is flop? eyes open sis.

He had one hit movie but they can't just let a beautiful thing be a beautiful thing - he got the franchise treatment - but there was no more story to tell

this results in:

- telling damn near the same story every movie (woAHHH he's not dead!!!!)

- them having to claim theres multiple timelines because they had to go back on old ideas and try again

- awful ratings on these movies and misery for anyone who watches and isn't a child

Most horrors go downhill after the original, but the halloween franchise fails to have any self awareness about this and has had quite possibly the hardest fall-off from grace.

Someone PLEASE put this franchise to it's rest bed

Even when his movies flop he will stay relevant. He is a mainstay. The blue print. Other horror fads wish they had that longevity :alexz2:

Very simple. THEE Michael Myers is the standard, the one everyone tries to copy. Only Chucky is on his slasher caliber. People keep trying to bring him down, but he comes back STRONGER.

More like refuses to die... Michael is so much more iconic than his actual body of work. Same goes for Freddy & Jason.

But if anything this makes his longevity even more astounding. He really did deserve to fade into obscurity and yet he said no :khalyan2:

Michael is the legend of slasher movies and that’s just a fact. There’s a reason the 2018 remake is the best selling slasher movie of all time and that was released after the career lows of Resurrection and Halloween II (Rob Zombie’s Version) [From the Vault].

It just goes to show you that no amount of studio sabotage is enough to stop the audience from supporting Mr. Myers. I’m not sure if any slasher will beat the $259 million it made in the box office.

Halloween (2018) is the best selling slasher movie of all time. The Texas Box Office Massacre is serving N/A as a franchise.

The 2022 Netflix movie even tried to make Sally a copy and paste of Laurie from Halloween (2018) but they couldn’t compete I fear! What Halloween does has class to it.

The GP said YES to the daddy in the overalls and NO to the Donald Trump impersonator carrying a chainsaw to overcompensate for his micro-peen.

What fan fiction is this? Sure there were some duds but a majority of the movies were box office smashes. Sign out.

Exactly! He’s all about the charts, not the arts; quantity over quality. :matty:
