Also, Robin still hasn't said where all that money went. A mess!

Yeah I've never understood why ATRLers are so hard on Nicole. She was very clearly put in the front by the label for obvious reasons and there was nothing wrong with that. She did not steal anyone's place or had a bad behavior. I miss the PCD's music, they were so fun and entertaining. Back when artists used to care about their careers.

Not really, the album had sold 400k by June 2009 a year after release and with TEA/SEA it should be at least 1M by now.

 

The singles went platinum too, by 2009:

When I Grow up had 2.1M digital sales and now it should be around with streaming 3xP.

 

I hate this part was certified Platinum in 2010 and I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit 2xP with streaming.

 

Jai Ho! should be around 500k enough for a Gold cert.

 

They weren’t best sellers in that second era but still were largely successful in Europe and Oceania, and had 3 Top 20 at billboard selling around 4M singles and 500k albums in the US alone.

 

Anyway I think that the problem was management and bad negotiations with Nicole and the other chicks, and the reunion tour was a cool idea but it’s gone now.

This is what the group set-up should've been. Nicole, the deserved lead, and Melody aiding her but still featuring heavily. They were a dynamic duo and it makes for a more interesting performance. Many times Nicole was simply out of breath for trying to sing the whole song and dance at the same time - When I Grow Up live performances are a great examples of this.

 

Simply, Nicole was greedy and continues the discredit Melody, who was never a trained dancer. The Behind the Music documentary showed her for what she is, trying to garner sympathy for a situation she had influence over. She just didn't want to share spotlight vs someone like Bey who was the lead but happily let Michelle & Kelly shine too.

But they've all established themselves well. Much bigger than how their careers would have been if they had remained just 'dancers' for some random act in the industry. When you really break it down, PCD as a brand did more for the rest of the girls (with the exception of Melody) than it did for Nicole.

People just love to hate on Nicole for some reason. It's always been the case. And I will never understand why. She is literally one of the least problematic popgirls, she's actually incredibly down to earth, literally no has ever said anything negative about her, she has NEVER gotten into a feud, she's just not a messy person. She is always uplifting all the women in the industry. On top of literally being one of the greatest vocalists in music. And one of the best performers, one of the few that could actually challenge Bey. Her personality is fun, she's actually hilarious, and she's gorgeous with a rocking body. Like... I don't get it and never will...

And after all of this, Robin comes and sues Nicole hoping to earn a few bucks to pay some on her new lawsuits.

But somehow.... Nicole is to be blamed.
