There has never been a bigger album dedicated to black ball culture ever. Obviously it doesn’t have the same mainstream appeal, but moving well over 3M global units with such a niche product is insane.

Ok the other hand, artistically she still feels very current, her physique and talent allows her to perform at the best level possible, she clearly is still able to deliver music that is also appreciated by GenZ (see Cuff It success). 

 

So yeah, quite weird spot. As a fan, it always feels like shes not reaching her full potential, but then you compare her to her real peers like Britney, Justin Timberlake, etc and suddenly her achievements seem gigantic (only challenged by Eminem)

! Only Eminem and Shakira are seeing her. Comparing her Spotify stats to people who debuted a decade after her and asking why she’s not doing as well is a compliment to her. Most of her actual peers like usher, christina, britney, ashanti etc. are doing Vegas and festivals and completely bombing with their new music

I would hope so considering it had 3 years to get enough sales, yet it's already getting outsold in the biggest music markets.

?? Renaissance will have outsold chromatica in a couple months worldwide. It has already outsold it in many major markets. It’s 2 years older and had way more promo when it came out. Renaissance cleared it by every metric except maybe Oreo sales

You do understand launch aligned comparisons are the only ones that makes sense? Which album sold more in its first 12months on sale?  Renaissance. It's tracking well ahead of Chromatica and will sell more then Chromaticas 3 year tally in 18months

It didn't, Renaissance has 405K  pure sales from US alone and 420K digital single sales. Renaissance is over 3.8M units WW and will hit 4M WW by December.

Were you saying this the day RENAISSANCE was released too, because that would be an accurate thing to say. It doesn't mean that it holds up considering the timelines of comparison.

The length of time since RENAISSANCE's release still hasn't equalled the length of time between Chromatica's original release and its remix album. It's rather premature to be saying bold things like this without the word "yet" in the sentence.
