There were rumors that they were "quietly hanging out" before the game last weekend. Taylor's PR, instead of shutting the rumor down, clarified that they weren't "officially dating." Tree basically confirmed they had already met.

I think the only potential negative of this kind of media firestorm is that it might sour Taylor to people who are only watching the game for the game itself and don't appreciate all the coverage about her. To what extent that negativity would have real-world consequences, though, is hard to say.

Most of the “random ass people” have been her friends for ages. Blake, Ryan, Sophie, and Antoni have been in her social circle for 5+ years. Sabrina is her opening act. Hugh is the only odd man out, and he’s friends with Ryan and has worked with Sophie.

Hugh and Ryan are in the middle of a production hiatus for Deadpool 3 which is directed by Shawn Levy, who is also there.

It’s important to remember that the negativity in the 1989 really didn’t start until the second half of 2015.  2014 and early 2015 were overwhelmingly positive.
