The concern is valid given the fact that Usher hasn't been musically relevant in over 10 years. The only relevance he has had in the last decade, outside of his herpes scandal, was that viral Tiny Desk moment, that he did not capitalize of off, and because of Keke Palmer. The only reason why he booked the gig is because Jay Z has some say. Outside of that, why would he be booked for the Super bowl? Can he even chart on the Billboard Hot 100? Not being able to is really, really bad for a legacy act who isn't even 45 yet.

Big Day for Black mommas worldwide, I know my mum is going to try and stay up when it's gonna be 2am here:rip:

In all seriousness, congrats. For all the whites on the forum who don't bother to listen to R'n'B - Usher has lots of hits to fill up the timeslot :heart2:

Don’t forget, Usher was pop and R&B…especially his Raymond vs Raymond album…pop classics like:

Jay Z needs to be stopped. His SBs under Roc Nation have been all SH+T. Including last year.

I asked a question.

This is his first entry in how many years?

And Usher is booking the Allegiant stadium on Feb 11, 2024 to perform his long list of hits.

Considering his 1st Hot 100 entry was 29 years ago, does it matter?:skull:

He currently has a song #58 on the Hot 100 that is still climbing up. :rip: It will likely go Top 50 after Olivia's album songs fall down.

What does that have to do with him being relevant today?

I asked a question. I did not make a statement. Top 50 isn't burning up the charts. How many duds have he released in the last 5 years just to get to this point? I'm super okay with Usher performing at the Super Bowl, but I'm not going to pretend that it isn't a odd choice.

I’ve got to say…there’s nothing like a successful male artist to make ATRLers show their ignorance about the music industry. This has truly become a forum for the narrowest band of pop fans.

Why are y'all playing the pop or race card? I do not care for pop music and I am black. You see how ignorant you look and sound?

He’s currently charting on the Billboard Hot 100 right now with his new lead single Good Good, which just recently reached a new peak of #58 and continues to climb. Beyond that, he’s had the hottest show in Vegas for the past two years and is about to start his sold out residency in Paris tonight. The Tiny Desk performance was in celebration of My Way’s 25th anniversary. Please join us in the real world where the world doesn’t revolve around homosexuals who only stan women and think that the NFL should cater their taste.

Meanwhile, he has released song after song for the last 5 years in an attempt to get an album out. He finally released a song that features two of the biggest modern day stars and it is still moving slow as molasses. Is that it?

Once again, another member jumping to conclusions and looking stupid.

Lmao just saw the video announcement. Why the hell is soon-to-be Golden Globe winner Kim K involved in this?

He made MAJOR points because your original point was to be shady towards Usher which FAILED because you were schooled and dragged countless times in this thread.

Stay in your lane, Little Monster and educate yourself. You’ve been embarrassing all damn day.
