Luckitty Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 the banner even if usher wasn't chosen, miley wouldn't be chosen either since she's too busy being in that cult
slik Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 I am not personally excited for Usher - but maybe I'll be wrong and he will do well. I thought J-Lo would be godawful since she always came across as try-hard and 'Madonna-lite' to me but I think she/Shakira have the best halftime show this past decade so I could be wrong about Usher too.

Bicassie Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 I guess he could do it but I would have preferred Miley
nostalgic Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Usher is an R&B legend at this point, I don't see why everyone is having a meltdown over this. He has the hits and the performance chops to put on a great show and he will! 1
Touchdown Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 I hope he sings that song that J Lo stole from him. 8
Onyxmage Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 What? That is SOOOO random. There are literally NO current great modern performers aka people who didnt debut over 25-30 years ago when most of us were in diapers. We wont be watching. 17

Soda Pop Queen Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 (edited) Yes! Ush is looong overdue for a headline. He should've gotten it before Timberlake tbh. edit: anyone complaining about this is a 12 year old goofy. Ush has been killing it in Vegas. He's a top tier performer, has dozens of hits and is a bonafide legend that's still semi-relevant. He ain't bad to look at either. Bring it on. Edited September 24, 2023 by Soda Pop Queen 2

slw84 Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 (edited) He's not JUST a R&B legend. Out of all of the male r&b legends he's had the most impressive run on top 40. I'm not that excited mainly because I wasn't expecting it but HE DOES DESERVE IT and he will do well. He has so many hits that he doesn't have to choose his 9 #1 hits. Some of his non #1s > some of his #1s. That's a good problem to have. I just wished it happened sooner for him but things happen for a reason so I'm happy for him. Also that Tinydesk episode is iconic so he stays relevant one way or another. I'm trying to figure out if he should start off with Yeah! or end off with Yeah! Other than that, he has so many hits to choose from. I'm sure he'll lean into the top 40 smashes and then get a couple of r&b gems too. Edited September 24, 2023 by slw84 2
