Originally there was going to be a soundtrack and Britney album out the same year, but they dropped the idea and merged both projects.

Actually there was going to be two albums, one her 3rd album and the crossroads soundtrack (I’m not a girl not yet a woman, I love rock an roll and bombastic love were originally for the soundtrack) until

her record label decided to merged the two albums.
