I’m sure other “samples” like this are inflating everyone’s numbers though, not just Madonna’s.

Technically it is a sampling of another song but not in the way we view sampling so I get your point.

Also remember that sampling includes stems that may not be obvious too (at least as far as I'm aware) so it could be background instruments or drums and stuff that wouldn't be "obvious"
