I don't believe it ill recruit but it will make it more 'okay' to say out loud.

I disagree. The very public pushback to this type of mindset is a useful discourse to have. Because people are coming with history lessons. This can help educate people who may agree with Wenner because they don’t know better.

Lambs have known this about him for a while.

meanwhile he wouldn’t have a magazine, a position of authority, or a genre to worship whatsoever if not for black people (male and female) creating Rock n roll from the ground up :rip:

THIS is the man that co-founded a magazine centered around a genre invented by POC?  :deadbanana4:

It was invented by Black Americans, not POC.

It also weakens the power that these people have. Jann Wenner is one of the most powerful out gay men in the music industry and his long-term partner is a fashion designer who uses mostly female models. They’ll have to either give up their empires or adapt their evil mindsets.

Disgusting piece of trash. Donna Summer, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, Janet Jackson (to name a FEW) are more talented and important for music history than any of the men he puts in his meaningless book.

You should think about taking these unintelligible, unengaging writing skills to Rolling Stone. You’d fit in.

Old Rockhead-Metalhead with racists views? I would like to say im shocked but im not :giraffe:
This is one of the reasons why we should make our magazine or top lists where all the races-ethnicities are counted.
All these rock publications always favor white artists above everyone else.

Some of those history lessons:

Nelson George (Music critic and historian, author of several books about Black Music in America, nominated for a few awards)

Craig Seymour (in particular as a music critic he highlights a lot of Dance music, one of the contributors to the last few Rolling Stones lists and author of a few music books)

Former editor of The Source magazine

Some other tidbits from those I'm not familiar with but insightful, nonetheless.

I take my comments back then.  Throw that trash out. I'm honestly shocked. Maybe the reckoning on these "influential" people is finally coming!!

That's why his "I may be racist, but I'm not sexist!" defense low-key had me cackling. Very white gay behavior.

Not to mention that he called his 2023 book (featuring white male artists) "The Masters".

Apology:

Quote

“In my interview with The New York Times, I made comments that diminished the contributions, genius, and impact of Black and women artists and I apologize wholeheartedly for those remarks,” he said in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter. “The Masters is a collection of interviews I’ve done over the years that seemed to me to best represent an idea of rock ‘n’ roll’s impact on my world; they were not meant to represent the whole of music and it’s diverse and important originators but to reflect the high points of my career and interviews I felt illustrated the breadth and experience in that career. They don’t reflect my appreciation and admiration for myriad totemic, world-changing artists whose music and ideas I revere and will celebrate and promote as long as I live. I totally understand the inflammatory nature of badly chosen words and deeply apologize and accept the consequences.”
