Hurem Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 The fact that her weakest album got three 100s shows you what good PR gets you. This album did not deserve a 85, it should be somewhere in the 60s at best. 3 1
DamianSolo Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 That's, kind of, their thing. It'd be more interesting to answer about the times they were right. All of these arbitrary numbers really don't mean a single thing, other than a critic overestimating their own importance—like they're some type of maestro. Pfft, please... 1
Tylerbv Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Solar Power. It’s still weak by Lorde’s standards but should be a 75ish on MC. 2
worldwide angel Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 damita jo erotica idk about katy because they're maybe like 60s at best but britney's earlier projects perhaps, i would also lump femme fatale in with that

Absolutely not with BTD and Ultraviolence (even though I love Lana). BTD might not be Lana's best but it was like 3 points away from being labeled as mixed there are albums by Demi Lovato and Camila Cabello with a higher score, that's definitely not right.

ahauntingnearu Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Critics are incredibly lukewarm to Florence and especially Hozier, which is absurd. And indeed BTD and UV are too low
Love4Janet Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Beyonce and Lemonade are both bad albums that critics overrated due to the way they were released.

The way critics switched on Lana like f****** Born to die is still charting at 500+ weeks Vroom Vroom is STILL ahead of its time

Reveal hidden contents Let's not turn this into a Britney's/Xtina's whole discography mess This has a Metacritic score of 62, while this has a Metacritic score of 66. I have no problems with KMO's score, but it's a crime against humanity for Body Language to be below it. 2

It was a pre-poptimism album, even Fever as retrospectively acclaimed as it is only got a 68. Body Language being more experimental and less approachable was bound to get a worse score.
UnusualBoy Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 BTD & TD. NFR is a 9 at the very least. Same for Folklore.
CityPop Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Mariah Carey's entire discography besides Caution. Mariah was always blasted by critics with low scores criticizing her lyrics and stating that her vocals were more impressive than expressive.
