Solaria Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 For as much as we like to say that monoculture doesn’t exist anymore, Taylor seems to be omnipresent. You can’t escape any pop culture event or discussion anymore without her name being mentioned somehow. Are you tired of her dominating pop culture right now? I’m curious. Discuss and keep it cute 5 1 1 1
LVP Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 (edited) Yes and I was kinda Swifie once. Taylor is my number 2 on last.fm but the overexposure and 20 new song per year started to be too much for me Edited September 13, 2023 by LVP 9
Popular Post Badgalbriel Posted September 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2023 I'm a Swiftie but yes, I'm tired. Not tired of her. Tired of people like you claiming to be tired of her but talking about her 24/7. 10 4 52 11
Odette Violet Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I don't feel her presence that much outside of socmed so I don't mind 3
WitnessOblivia Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I'm a Taylor fan. I'm not tired of her. I'm tired of Swifties and OTH who can't stop forcing her into every conversation. Enough is enough. 7

For me personally, it’s more a case of missing my own faves due to them being on long hiatuses right now. It has little to do with Tay
Gorjesspazze9 Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 It’s a combination of her being overexposed and having no competition even close to her right now. Like at least in 2015 there was Adele & Bieber. But right now there are no megastars but her… and it makes it seem like she is the biggest thing ever.

That will actually reduce 80% of the amount of times they read or hear about her.
illia Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 No, I don't see her much in my bubble except for ATRL 7
Sheep Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Her stans are annoying online and shove her everywhere like BTS fans used to be but in the real world that's not an issue so not really. 4

Yeah I think it also has to do with a lot of our other faves being on hiatus right now. Bey’s tour is almost over, Gaga is in Vegas rn and has no new music coming for quite some time, Rihanna is rihtired, Britney is blond and gone, etc.. I miss the years when the girls all used to release in the same year and we had so much competition 6 1
May Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 shes kinda the only main pop girl making pop exciting rn so no 8 1
Shimenawa Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 (edited) She is keeping pop alive All the other girls are lazy and retired Have some respect for the Queen Edited September 13, 2023 by Shimenawa 12
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 No. I freaking love Midnights era. It’s her best album to date (yes its better than Red and Folklore) and I always look out if Taylor goes to red carpets. I do get a little tired here and there of Cruel Summer smashing this hard globally when it should’ve been Karma 2

Pop is very much so alive!!
Steve Johnson Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 October (eras tour film + 1989 TV) yet to come

Punky Rooster Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I imagine this is the conversation people were having about Madonna in the 80s
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Just now, May said: since when does having a hit = making pop exciting ? what do you consider exciting then. performances are so 2008. who cares anymore. pop girls dominating, breaking records, dropping fire music and selling out arenas / stadiums is way more exciting to me. just look at renaissance tour and eras tour dominance. two women of that caliber breaking box office records simultaneously and boosting the economy. that will probably never happen again. 1
Orsay Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Not really tired but it gets boring how many ppl are obsessed with the same artist

Alldeezy Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Nope .. normally I hate the mainstream acts but shes lovable and I never get tired of seeing her face everywhere 5

I agree with this. It’s way more exciting when the girls drop new music then it is to see them perform at some award show. That’s my main point, I wish some of the bigger names who are on hiatus would drop some new music so we’d have more artists to talk about. I love Olivia and SZA but I really really want Rihanna and Gaga back in the public eye. I miss their presence a lot
