For as much as we like to say that monoculture doesn’t exist anymore, Taylor seems to be omnipresent. You can’t escape any pop culture event or discussion anymore without her name being mentioned somehow.

 

Are you tired of her dominating pop culture right now? I’m curious. Discuss and keep it cute

and I was kinda Swifie once. Taylor is my number 2 on last.fm but the overexposure and 20 new song per year started to be too much for me

To be fair I never said I was personally tired of her I just asked if others were.

 

For me personally, it’s more a case of missing my own faves due to them being on long hiatuses right now. It has little to do with Tay

It’s a combination of her being overexposed and having no competition even close to her right now. Like at least in 2015 there was Adele & Bieber. But right now there are no megastars but her… and it makes it seem like she is the biggest thing ever.

Yeah I think it also has to do with a lot of our other faves being on hiatus right now. Bey’s tour is almost over, Gaga is in Vegas rn and has no new music coming for quite some time, Rihanna is rihtired, Britney is blond and gone, etc..

No. I freaking love Midnights era. It’s her best album to date (yes its better than Red and Folklore) and I always look out if Taylor goes to red carpets. 
 

I do get a little tired here and there of Cruel Summer smashing this hard globally when it should’ve been Karma

this is not true… Dua, Olivia, SZA, Nicki, Doja and Billie have all had big global hits this year with Doja and Nicki having albums coming out and Olivia and SZA releasing huge and amazing sophomore albums. Pop is very much so alive!!

what do you consider exciting then. performances are so 2008. who cares anymore. pop girls dominating, breaking records, dropping fire music and selling out arenas / stadiums is way more exciting to me. just look at renaissance tour and eras tour dominance. two women of that caliber breaking box office records simultaneously and boosting the economy. that will probably never happen again.

her symbolism and easter eggs, as well as Taylor's Version announcements and revisiting old tracks that i grew up listening to is what's exciting

 

why would i be excited about someone breaking a record

I agree with this. It’s way more exciting when the girls drop new music then it is to see them perform at some award show.

 

That’s my main point, I wish some of the bigger names who are on hiatus would drop some new music so we’d have more artists to talk about. I love Olivia and SZA but I really really want Rihanna and Gaga back in the public eye. I miss their presence a lot
