Her commitment to the title even after tying herself to Luke blew up in her face and made her look like the Blair White of Pop is made even *worse* knowing Je T'dore is probably the strongest track on here AND could have easily worked as a title track instead of that edgelordy mess. :rip:

Y’all really act like she raped Kesha herself. Can you get over it already? Plenty of other artists continue to work with Luke.

Are you keeping this same energy for all of those artists too? Or just the trans one?

What does Luke being a rapist have to do with that her trying to reclaim "problematic" just comes off corny?

No one is judging her for Luke's decisions. She's being judged for her own.

There's no witty way to """reclaim""" the term problematic. It sounds like a corny 4channer.:deadbanana4:

Je T'dore is cute, femme, kitschy. Problematique sounds like if Candance Owens moved to France.

My favorite Kim project has actually been Clarity, even though most Kim fans hate that album.

This is completely untrue. :rip: Kim fans love Clarity from start to finish.

the iconic title problematique is the only reason I clicked on this thread

And "her own" actions being....continuing to work with him? Because she hasn't actually done anything "problematic" to me, and the only thing you guys can bring up are Dr. Luke and Larry Rudolph - shaming her for associating with them because of THEIR actions.

As far as the title of the album and concept of the track, I think it's fun that a popstar is poking fun at being labeled problematic. Why not?  Stans get online and act faux outraged over anything because they don't like that particular artist and want to bully them and their fans into being shunned - in this case, none of that was justified. And that's exactly what happened to Kim.

also you are factually wrong. trans girls have been saying problematique since at least 2016 on tumblr. kim didn't pioneer the word problematique, but I'm stanning another tgirl who taps into it. I know being the only sanctimonious tryhard leftist on atrl is an uphill battle and you have to work overtime being the blue-haired conscience on this generally conservative-skewed website, but if you spent more time in the kind of trans communities where it's hard to be a real person because everybody is so traumatized that they "call out" (bully) people over random inconsequential bullshit just to feel ethical and political, you would understand why trans girls joke about being problematique. "problematic" is a word only chronically online people take seriously. "problematique" is having femme fun with a word that was overused circa 2016 (again, my frame of reference for when I saw this word used a lot by people I followed. made me kii!). it's literally goofy and harmless

Not too much.

I did make a thread asking ATRL to rate Clarity tracks and most of the love was reserved for the usual fan faves like Icy, Sweet Spot, Do Me, while others said songs like Meet The Parents, Got My Number, Blow It All were bad and calling me tasteless!

I personally love Clarity! It's such a fun and emotional album. I feel like she hasn't given anything with as much range since. In terms of a full body of work. Clarity has fantasy type of pop songs (Icy, Do Me), vulnerable moments (Broken, Another One, AIDIC), melancholic anthem Blow It All, bratty bops with MTP & GMN. :jonny5: It's so good.

I'm just tired of this drama with Kim Petras and Dr. Luke

Kim is getting backlash from it only because Kim is not that big just like Doja Cat or Nicki for example

And we all know Doja and Nicki are working with Dr. Luke

Nobody is attacking Doja and Nicki because of that

This is boring

The Dr. Luke discourse is so tired. Hasn't the lawsuit run its course? I think it's time to move on and focus on what really matters: the music

I want all of you to shut the **** up about this in any thread for both girls because it’s honestly tiring, and Luke is still filthy rich moving on with his life. Take it to twitter or stfu.

And let’s stop saying Doja is working with him bc she isn’t, he’s known to steal songs / attach himself to songs that he’s never touched. Done it to plenty of his artists, if not all. Next!

I remember reading on here that Kim fans loved Era 1 and hated Clarity. Maybe these people have changed their minds?

This! I remember the Clarity-hate-train, and I agree, Clarity is very good!

She is one of the only ones (if not the only one) that chose to continue to work with him and defend him after all the allegations came out… which contributed to her deeming herself ‘problematique’, which just feels a bit :doc: to me

I listen to Kim's music, and I still agree with this take.

I agree that celebrities are talked about negatively and disparaged for every little action, but continuing to work with an alleged (rhymes with grapist) and basically joking about the controversy is in really poor taste. Kim deserves to get called out for that. Also, Future Starts Now is also just a way better opener than Problematique, but that's just me.

Y'all better not turn this thread into an annoying Dr. Luke discussion again. Go create a thread about it or discuss this tiring topic somewhere else

OT: Still obsessed with Dirty Things :jonny:

I know she won't do anything for this album but i would love at least a music video from this era (not counting FSN). If she had the budget this would've been such a great era visually too

That's disturbing :biblio:  "Meet the Parents" is so fun and sexy, and "Got my Number" and "Blow it All" are undeniable MEGA god-tier bops????? The f??

Kim stans hate everything when it's released and then switch like baguettes the minute she releases the next thing and retroactively say it's better etc etc. That being said I think Feed the Beast, despite behind full of bangers, will always be slandered because of how incohesive and randomly thrown together it is. That being said, it's still an album I've been blasting on the regular. It's pretty damn fresh.

I’ve just listened to YTTC for the first time and that would’ve been a great closing track if this had come out before FTB. God I hate her label so much.
