I'm only saying Ren because was no music videos to it though her tour is doing well ... it would've done well even without an album :coffee2:

People just rewrite history and measure everything in light of streams. There's no way Lemonade is her least successful album.

The answer is obviously 4.

4 did better in pure sales than most of the MPGs.

only Adele (obviously) did significantly better that year.

are we ignoring the gift and everything is love? those are the obvious answers

The thread is obviously referring to her studio albums, so neither of those albums are relevant. That's like saying "I think it's actually her remix album". :rip:

EIL is the only bey related release that underperformed and that's because they left it for dead after Apesh*t

That's not true. Rihanna did better in  pure sales with two albums that year Loud and Talk That Talk. Gaga also did better with BTW.

It sold significantly less than a lot of MPGs albums from that time: Taylor with Speak Now (2010) and Red (2012), Katy with Teenage Dream (2010) and Prism (2013), Adele obviously...

I'm not sure who are the "most of the MPGs" you're talking about.

No. Lemonade had good pure sales for a 2016 release but that's not enough to make it more succesful in general. It has about the same pure sales as 4 but with much less streams and digital sales.

4 is her Bionic, her ARTPOP, although still serving more singles than these two albums combined.

She just lost her dad as manager, still learning to self manage. It was divisive, I remember a lot of displeasure happened when Run The World leaked, cos it is just a major lazer song with her vocals on it. But overtimes it becomes iconic anthem.

Neither one of those Rihanna albums sold more physical copies in the US of A. You bringing up a whole lot of albums that weren’t released in 2011.

It obviously had less streams because it wasn’t available for streaming outside if Tidal.

They sold much more globally, this topic is not about only US sales. In the US, Taylor Swift's Speak Now sold much more in that year despite being a 2010 release.

"4 did better in pure sales than most of the MPGs" doesn't make sense whether you're talking about only 2011 or the releases from near that time in general.

No one is rewriting history

Lemonade simply was not remembered by most of the GP after 2016

She is on tour and that album could barely do 500k doesn't matter if song is on setlist or not ,that's low for successful album

What u on about delulu?

Lemonade was a cultural reset and was the it album after 25. It’s not all about streams and #1s…

4 was obviously the least successful in terms of impact. It had some cute moments with run the world and love on top, but that’s about it.

“It has about the same pure sales as 4” that alone proves it was more successful. Lemonade selling almost the same as 4 when pure sales were heavily declining is impressive.

Lemonade, it's a shining example of how to NOT run an era.

For an album to be that celebrates and acclaimed and not even pull half a million streams daily speaks volumes.

It's a forgotten album outside of the Hive.

And Lemonade failing to have as much streams as 4 makes it less successful overall. The fact that it was Tidal exclusive boosted its pure sales.

But what does that have to do with the success at the moment it was released? Nothing.

And you are also wrong

-Lemonade always has the 2nd (or 3rd) increase after Renaissance in percentage. It's just that those increases are weak because the singles were not available and are performing awfully.

All of her eras were big, but I would say Lemonade because it basically had the film + the tour and nothing more. 4 had an enduring impact and its songs are recognized everywhere, and the Mrs Carter Tour also helped. I don't see Lemonade songs performing out there like 4 songs does

4 least successful at time of release but it was original Lover and made a comeback overtime. In fact according to CM, ST still hasn’t outsold it globally (although it’s beck and neck). Lemonade easily wins overall though.
