    • No, we just need a good horny bop and it will be relevant again.

With an over-saturation of Of, semi-naked influencers and popstars naked in the 2010s it natural for it to have no impact.

Maybe in 20 years but right now everyone is naked everywhere and it’s boring

I don't think Dua will ever serve a full sexed up era like WAP, S4U or Anaconda. She is sexy but keeps it very pretty, sultry

This isn't selling sex, thats just almost-porn.

Britney Spears is an example of selling sex, Katy too.

Yeah, this too. Gen Z is obsessed with really slow, introspective, chill “vibe” music. I’ll be happy when this trend is over.

Everyone is selling sex. It's literally unavoidable unless you never make publically known who you are lol That's why everyone (including men ofc) look good in public appearances and music videos. They wanna look their best (aka sell sex) bc that's always a plus. Selling sex is not necessarily singing about your private parts and showing them every chance you get. Unless you consider selling sex appeal a separate entity which is another conversation.

I feel like has always been a bad thing for pop girlies to go sexual

Lets take a look at some eras

Madonna Erotica = Flop
Britney Im a Slave = Big backlash
Katy bon apettit = flop
Christina Aguilera Not myself-Dirty = Flop
Shakira she wolf era = Big backlash in Latinoamerica
Miley Cyrus Bangerz era = Backlash
Cardi B Wap = Backlash
Anaconda = Big backlash
Anitta = Her sexual antics have damaged her career

People love Pop girs when theyre serving Sexy and "Classy". Sexual is not it.
If they sell Sex it has to be toned down sadly

No, sex is always in. It is just the way you sell it that's changed imho

There were period where vulgarity is cool, and then some other time where it was said with lots of symbols or codes, or even a more sophisticated way of saying it.

:deadbanana: it kills me how some of y’all would prefer generic noise over thoughtful, reflective, meditations on the inner self and the state of the world we live in.  But to each their own

Chloe's sex came off highly inauthentic as it seemed to come out of nowhere. She deserved that.

The decline in highly sexualized popstars/'selling sex' is likely due to fatigue from the previous decade and probably goes hand in hand with how Gen Z isn't exactly as sex-positive as the last generation. You have some outliers like many of the recent hits from rappers (ie Ice Spice & Planet Her) but it feels like in general that era is over for now.

No, her music is just trash.

Her Chris Brown collab couldn't even perform on par with H.E.R's 3rd single Chris Brown collab where she's being more sexy than the GP is used to for her

... because it wasn't supported by her fanbase OR the label (wasn't even sent to radios), the music wasn't the problem this time around lol. Body Do was another wasted hit

Yeah she shot herself in the foot by collaborating with Chris when her fanbase was mostly anti chris but I still stand by the fact that the song itself is fine and would've probably been a cute hit if they doubled down and pushed it idk.
