Never even tried Man of the Woods, but Future Sex/LoveSounds is a masterpiece. One of the essentials albums from 2000’s. 20/20 Experience is also great.

Hope he has better fashion sense for this era. The last era was not it.

I didn't realize ATRL was filled with JT haters :rip: I actually think he has a v good chance of another hit era. Keep Going Up is just a buzz single to get his name back out there. Then the Trollz/NSYNC song is probably gonna be pretty big. And then boom this next era will start and I do feel like the music is gonna be relatively good.

What's the point, he doesn't have it in him to ever come up with anything half as good as Futuresex, truly his magnum opus and a fluke.

Fututesex is not his Magnum opus

Loose is better and he also did timeless work with Aaliyah, Missy

Edit: wait are you talking about Timbaland or JT?

Man of the Woods was NOT it.

I am still a big fan of the 20/20 Experience (Vol 2 being my fav)

So, to me, it's like his last album was released 10 years ago !

Hurry up, please.

Personally felt MOTW was **very** mid, IMO.

But beyond that, there is a lot that is at play outside of music affecting Justin's current standing...and, as oddly timed as some of it is, I can't say it's not deserved.

Justin has the misfortune of the GP at large having a delayed reaction to his wrongs with Janet (and Britney). To make matters worse, history isn't looking back kindly on him because at the time he was getting away with it (and they weren't), he has countless soundbites leaning into an IDGAF attitude. Now, he's all of a sudden sorry...when publicly called out.

I also think taking the Super Bowl offer outside of it being mandated that it a) be co-billed with him and Janet (as a joint do-over) or b) her headlining and him being her guest is the biggest mistake of his career. To do it solo against a social backdrop of the world advocating for women in countless ways (from gender equality to #MeToo) is the most tone-deaf and career-destructive thing he's ever, ever done.

Then to release mid-album amidst that too? An album seemed to have an identity crisis in that its image wanted to give "back to my roots", while visually giving middle America lumberjack, in peak Trump era, while still giving late Neptunes/Timbo throwaways to service a largely "Urban-Pop" audience. Nah.

All personal feeling aside, beyond talent and good songs, there's a tactile/strategic way of navigating "celebrity" (which the likes of Beyonce have perfected) that ensures longevity and remaining unblemished. Whoever is shepherding Justin's career over the last few years dropped the ball and I can't be convinced it'll be easy to get back on track.

Crazy to think he seemed to be on that "male Beyonce" path only to now seem somewhat capped at where Alicia Keys and Usher are. Nothing to scoff at, but definitely more "expedited legacy act" than the "culturally current icon" that Bey, Rih, Taylor, give.

MOTW and Vol 2 are actually very similar in sound.

He can keep it bye

I can't stand Justin. Literally the epitome of mediocre and basically has to use Timbalands genius to garner a hit. Everything about him feels wrong.

Don't understand why people in here hate him so much I remember ATRL were stanning when 20/20 was announced.
Hope this time the album will sound good and do well, FS/LS will always be my favorite album of all time. :jonny:
