you should look more to the numbers or things like Halloween remake etc.. horrors will have an appeal to young people but to oldest too cause they are old sagas. First halloween sequel opened to 76M. 

 

Megan and screams are only for young people. 

 

 

This will easily do more than Justin Bieber or Hannah Montana concert movies, or One Direction even. It will do more than Exorcist, there’s no competition really. Halloween is much more iconic today than Exorcist. No older person is going to the movie theater to watch an exorcist sequel

Trailer mentioned 'Debut' which isn't on the setlist, but she did sing 'Our Song' as a surprise song on one of the filming dates.

Exorcist is being release at the start of the Halloween season and will be playing in every other format not in IMAX (digital, 4DX, Dolby, regular). IMAX films only get played 4 to 5 times a day vs 20 to 50 times a day for new releases with all formats combined.

 

This new Exorcist is the start of a new trilogy, which massive studio Universal will be pushing hard to make it a success.

 

Plus exorcist is a bigger and more recognized icon can Taylor worldwide  so if the film ends up with good critic scores for a horror film and word of mouth, it will easily take the top spot given it's advantage of having way more showtimes.
