shyboi Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I think she made it sound different on purpose, so it have that TV mature subtle touch

Sabrina Carpenter Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 yeah i don’t like the delivery… Taylor girl… 1 1
znake Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 (edited) I knew she will struggle with this song , hope the complete song it is overall ok ! Edited August 23, 2023 by znake
Illuminati Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I knew she would struggle to replicate the speaking parts of SIO and LWYMMD because she sings them different live every time but Aside from the chorus this was alright I guess
Escape Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 OLIVER JACKSON-COHEN I'M SEATED. OP: Lol the chorus...
aesthetic bih Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I was about to say "Reputation stans won!!1" but then I heard her flat delivery 1 1
hausofdave Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 OG is better, i fear for all the pop tracks 1
YR. Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 reputation already being disrespected @Taylor fanboy
The Next Day Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Jack coming through with the production. But I understand some Swifties now, I have played LWYYMMD on repeat for days at a time in the last years, so even the little "do" difference throws me off since I'm so used to the original. Reputation is the album I'm worried for the most since it's the first Taylor album I was obsessed with.
Frozen99 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 omg the chorus sounds so flat and she sounds bored, the "do" 1 1
Timeless Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 The new pronunciation of "do" in the chorus is horrible and the delivery of the phone call bridge felt flat. She's lacking the sass from the original and she sounds bored or too relaxed. 1 1
Cocetti Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 What's going on with the "dooo" other than that it sounds fine!

a_d_22 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 well that’s a bummer. the delicate snippet was great and i had hope for puta, but this is dogshit 1
Blade Runner Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 The way she loves sh+tty ass shows/movies. Unbelievable.
woohoo Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I hope they tweaked it a bit for trailer or something. I don’t hate it, but it’s missing the emotion from 2017, which isn’t surprising since she had a career repeak and Kim and Kanye..well…we know how that’s going
Peak Now Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I feel like she's trying to "sing" the chorus (cf. the Rep tour live performance, esp. the last chorus) but then remembered that she had to make it faithful to the original. We blame Jack Antonoff for letting this vocal take through!
