needs Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 It's puzzling that so much more was done for Songs for You and 333 independently than for this album, which has a label partnership attached to it... 4
nuclear Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 (edited) What the hell is going with this era? This bar far her worst era beside (joyride maybe?). Joyride was stressful but got something. @Supervillain @BlackoutZonedo you have any idea was going behind the scenes. Edited October 25, 2023 by nuclear

The way her, her team, and her label hype this era you would never even have even a thought of this being a possibility. This era makes absolutes no sense and is dead on arrive. I wish she surprise drop this album with a few video throughout the release week and go on her way until the next project. She needs to drop nice life or be honest with herself and US.
Patient Zero Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 I don't get it either. Needs was a smash for the taking and they didn't do anything with it. I also don't like how short this "album" is. I just can't get into it because it loses momentum. I hope she never releases a project like this again. 1
Midnightsun Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 I feel like this “album” was a test run for the label. They maybe wanted to see a baseline on how her music performs or something and didn’t want to go all out monetarily. Idk. It does feel like an incomplete era. Still hoping for “ANG3L” the full project. 2

Still hoping for “ANG3L” the full project. It was a horrible test run, they failed miserably at everything except playlisting which was a bit better than before. I don’t think this makes any sense because before signing her they must have done their own research. She released two independent projects. That is most of the data they need to know how her music performs. Where they testing how her music does with absolutely no promotion/marketing and a tiny budget. They didn’t invest much money into this era , their biggest effort this era (if we can even call it that) or probably only efforts was playlisting. From what I believe most if not all these playlisting doesn’t cost money or much money. The only person on that label that is moderately doing okay is Lizzo and that is a partnership with Atlantic. The budget they give tinashe and the amount they invest was significantly less than Tinashe other independent releases. I am glad this tour got cancelled, I need to back to studio and finish the rest of the album and try again next year. This era is pretty much done (did it ever start?).

It’s not even comparable. RCA was at least (trying) for that protect. This era is zero effort or care. She lost all her momentum she gain from Songs For You & 333. She really should have done that dance album she originally stated. There was excitement & hype with that.
redsing707 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 So we're gonna have 1 video (for Gravity?) later and that would be the end of this "era"? 4 hours ago, Midnightsun said: IStill hoping for “ANG3L” the full project. I wish we would have part 2 before the end of the year but with no news about it, it won't happen. Maybe part 2 in February with a new single in January...
collin Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 This feels like a mixtape. Let’s just pretend it’s the follow up to Amethyst. Because this project, sonically, is amazing and classic Tinashe. Couldn’t have asked for more out of the music. Everything else… yeah, right there with y’all.
Kiss It Better Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 did they even send anything to radio yet? Needs could've been doing well like Vic's On My Mama right now
Power love Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 This era should be studied on what NOT to do ….

Needs could've been doing well like Vic's On My Mama right now Girl needs was barely in any playlisting when it was viral. All she do is like and repost tik tok of needs. She has literally one performance this entire era, which was GMA ( okay there were those little performances that no one have seen because they are not available to fans or needs to have a subscription to see). If she market this as an a mixtape or ep (which it is) then we wouldn’t be complaining as much. It the fact she use this as a way to go back on tour so she can book Coachella and such and did nothing for this era. like girl how are you supposed to pack these venues with an era like this. She did all these to packed venues and she lost most of her momentum and hype before she could ever do that. A total fail across the board. Edited October 26, 2023 by nuclear

She should have left the project as a 14 track project as it was originally was and hold on to it until next year, instead release a 7/9 track dance EP with a few videos and such and market it as such. Then we would be fine, cause we know it would while you wait moments.

nuclear Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 The insider that post about she only release this mini-album so she can go back on tour and fulfill her requirements to book Coachella was totally correct. This album is nothing but a means to fulfill a requirement, she fail to understand she can’t just haft ass ****, she not a big artist. Her stupidity just backfire on her. i am just going to treat this project as this decade amethyst. She needs to postpone this tour until next project if she want give us proper era. She can try for Coachella for 2025. Cause this a total fail.
Alex Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 stunning as always but she's been looking a bit sad in a few recent performances. I hope everything is okay with her

oshyms Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) i feel like the shygirl tour situation would’ve been very defeating for an independent artist, not only the disruption/stress of it all but also because it was such a great idea to begin with where is the flume/jpeg collab though?? she needs to be getting her name back out there to casual fans/other bases, especially in that niche, digital bubbling-under sphere where listeners really pay attention. would’ve been cool if she was featured on machinedrums project that’s out today. are there any others in the works that we know of? wish Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Yeah, Needs definitely should have gotten a radio push. But l have to credit Nice Life for getting Tinashe's playlisting out of the trenches. They got her on the main R&B playlists now, she hasn't had that since RCA. Needs and TTMN have 11M playlist reach rn, even Uh Huh has 5M. Bouncin and X both only had about 1-2M reach at this point
