I’m in complete shock her releasing made less noise than Jesy.

I’m starting to think none of theses girls are ever releasing a debut album.

I mean Jesy's second single, despite being a good song and having a great video was a bigger flop than 'My Love', granted Jesy had zero playlisting and radio support.

However, Jesy actually had slots on great platforms like 'This Morning' and 'The One Show', it is insane to me Leigh's only tv slot has been ITV news and that was all about carnival months after DSL.

I think Perrie will be the most successful of the four. I think Jade will be second and will have a huge gay fanbase outside the core LM one.

If anyone’s at all even remotely interested anymore, the song seems to be rebounding a little on Apple Music lately. Obviously there’s no salvaging this, but it’s something.

This was a gorgeous droplet and taste of what’s to come on the real lead single

I wonder which station she is on about as I believe it is played often on Capital and that is like the main station?

You've worded this so well and I say this as a POC in the UK.

She mentions the struggle but like you said she's got it 'easier' as she is lighter and she is from a great area, so POC find that hard to relate to when they may be darker and not from the best area.

I hope she keeps going and releases bops and it resonates with a broader audience!

I'm sure she'll be successful in whatever she does if music eventually takes a slight back burner one day.

Perhaps R1 Xtra or Capital Xtra? I don’t see how a song being considered “too pop” would hold her back on mainstream Top 40 radio stations, but it makes a little more sense if it’s in relation to radio stations that spotlight other genres and appeal to different audiences. Especially when we know that Leigh-Anne is actively trying to branch out in to other genres and appeal to different audiences.

I think this is a reflection of identity and her resonating differently with different audiences, both in her music and as a personality, which has been discussed already and articulated far better than I could.

It is a shame to think that this might be restricting opportunities or support for her, but as long as she remains true to her own core then the authenticity will shine through and she’ll find a way to connect to her audience, whomever that may be. I have said before, though, that her and her label need to switch focus and give up the idea of global superstardom and let her continue releasing music to cultivate a small fan base that can sustain a touring career.

Something just isnt clicking with the public.

I dont know what it is but I want to support but the music is missing that WOWWW factor

It seems like she doesnt know which way she wants to go musically so shes just trying to dibble and dabble in different genres to see what sticks, instead of trying to find her own lane and create a new sound.

Someone on another music forum said they think her being already married with kids is probably hurting her career because people tend to love that pop-star who is dating and the papz is chasing to see who she is seen with and etc kinda like Taylor Swift. I dont know how true that is but maybe if that is playing a factor maybe she should cater to the married-mommy audiences? *shrugs*

Artist need to stop relying on music shows and talk shows. She should of gotten a space, dancers, lights and a camera and recorded her own promo for tiktok and youtube.

So she finally performed this on a semi-big stage and it wasn't really giving.

I want her to win, but beyond her release strategy being off (which we've all touched on), there's work to do with her live setup.

In the simplest terms, the vocals were not vocal-ing here.

Generally, she really should just pre-record if planning to dance hard or tailor the choreo (for herself, not the dancers) to accommodate a better vocal performance. Essentially, step in and out of the dancing for breath control.

It's so eye-opening in a sense. So many group members say it's hard to find their footing solo when on stage, and I got that from Leigh-Anne's performance. Areas she would have been able to rely on the harmonies of the group or share the lead vocal aren't there, so sis couldn't decide whether she wanted to sing those choruses live or nah lol.

Glad this isn't a big show per se. Hopefully, they iron out the kinks with her live setup overall. Because it would be wild/unfortunate for her, as the strongest "performer" in Little Mix, to develop any kind of rep for not performing well.

Yeah a decade into the game I expect her to not get outperformed by the “Water” songstress :deadbanana4:

I love my girl, for real, but she clearly seems kinda lost without the rest of the girls, you can tell it’s hard for her to sing and dance and just be the centre of attention. She’s nit giving vocals and she’s not giving choreo but half assing both.

She could benefit a lot from pre recorded vocals.

Yall r being wayy too harsh. Clearly her in ear was off and also she ate the dance break. I think she did great and i prefer her release over the other girls solo efforts so far

honestly… that performance was better than her other ones

It makes sense that jesys first song did better. One she was the first to go solo also her song is better than both of Leigh Anne (this one is good first was awful)

Perrie and jade will be (and we’re always going to be) the solo stars to look forward from this group. Perrie is the best singer, most popular, and honestly the prettiest. Jade is a hell of a performer and second best singer. Jesy and Leigh were never the strongest or the obvious solo star. I never was in the LM fandom just and outsider looking in

We only have Jesy's two solo songs to compare with, what other releases are you talking about?

I will agree that My Love is still that *****, I still have It on heavy rotation :gaycatina1:

Don't say love is not my type of song but i will admit for the UK radio it was perfect .... it went nowhere

My Love is for sure a certified bop with a fantastic video that any 20year old new artist with a good team behind her could make it easily a moderate WW hit .... it was a disaster ...

I really still cannot believe My Love didn't reach top20 on UK radio . Its insane . But for sure that means that no matter what .... unless is a DJ collab or smth

I really dont want to repeat myself but I find it so hard to believe how this bombed SO HARD on UK radio

It's not like afrobeats is insanely popular on UK mainstream radio :rip: It gets a lot of support on urban stations like Radio 1 Xtra. Radio 1 plays it a bit, mainly artists like Burna Boy, but mostly the pop stations (like Capital/Heart/Kiss) only play the viral crossover hits like Water and Calm Down.

That performance again was so disappointing.

I truly thought this would be a big step up, it feels like something is missing. She was performing better on stage with LM than she is solo...

The incredible dancing in the video made me think that sort of energy would be brought to the live performances, obviously not to that extent as it is edited but the performances are really falling flat.

It’s okay I guess  :deadbanana4:I think the sound team is mostly to blame here.

Do I want to ask what the rest of the set list was?

I mean there was not even any real choreo, it is giving Anne-Marie :deadbanana2:

It was just those two songs I believe.

Ufff i dont know where to start on those performances...

On one side i LOVE that she is singing live the entire songs and if im not mistaken also the backing vocals are live (?) ... on the other side she is no Beyonce . For 10 years little mix barely sang any chorus live . They were doing only their solo live and we all know Leigh was the one struggling the most ( cause of self confidence ) . I don't see the point to sing live the entire dance song

If you notice the last part of my love , the dance break , she is full of confidence and she is serving.. while in the singing parts she is really holding back bc she is scared she will mess it up

Also the outfit was bad

That being said its really a pitty cause DSL sounded like a UK radio smash and ML ( especially with this outstanding video ) deserved to become a hit

I really feel sorry for my girl but i really dont see her going anywhere

Not that i see a huge success from Jade or Perrie . They let the years pass , they should have released their 1st single right after Confetti Tour . There is literally no hype at all

Maybe Perrie if she pulls out a Leona type of song , or Jade with a DJ collab could do smth but still ...

I also fear a reunion tour could be big only if Jesy joins

I cannot believe we haven't had anything from them yet, especially Jade.

I think Perrie will be next as she seems to be posting more about music lately on socials.

Yes and yes

I thought back then Jade would release something like a month after the tour had ended :rip:

Maybe she knows the struggle is real and she waits until a massive hit comes on her hand :deadbanana4:

Random:

Did anyone think if Jade, Leigh-Anne & Perrie released a Little Mix album of the 3 of them after confetti instead of that Greatest Hits album they would have (Slayed).

I wish they did a fast follow up instead of that pointless greatest hits album
