rivers Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 I hate this trend of cherry picking tweets and calling it cancel culture. Causing this hoopla is just a media tactic to get people talking and drive more clicks to their website. I bet the movie producers are loving it cause it will get the Anti-PC crowd to come see the movie cause they got ragebaited into supporting it.
CroNich Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) I don’t think using prosthetics or make-up to make an actor look more like the real-life figure they’re playing is problematic but damn… did they really have to make the nose that big Edited August 18, 2023 by CroNich
superben Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 He's one of the most overrated actor currently. Some cute above-average acting, but nothing outstanding.
WEEKND Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 This movie is serving actors ACTING but I wasn’t aware of the gay agenda. Suddenly I’m interested 1
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted August 19, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted August 19, 2023 None of these comparison photos is even the same angle, so it’s hard to even tell if they look alike and it feels like a useless argument to have. 1

Lana Banana Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) Leonard Bernstein’s children have defended Bradley Cooper: “It happens to be true that Leonard Bernstein had a nice, big nose. EmailMySwift Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Anti-Semitic is too much. It's dangerous throwing those words around. I'm sure this will be a loving and respectful biopic without any "hatred" or "hostility" toward Jews (per the definition of Anti-Semitic). Still, the prosthetic nose is a little 2002. It's out of touch. Nothing to cancel anyone over, though.

There's a direct correlation between how much an actor transforms their face/body and their odds of an Oscar nom/win. Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Eddie Redmayne, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, Hilary Swank...
dumbsparce Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 I didn't know Jewish people are known for their big noses. Is that a thing? Why does the intention behind the prosthetic has to be anything else other than trying to match the real person's appearance?
