nostalgia Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Bradley Cooper has caught himself in the eye of a storm over the newly-released trailer for the Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro. The focal point of this heated debate is nothing but the “Shallow” chanteuse’s prosthetic nose. After the trailer's release internet was quick to observe this distinct feature, triggering heated debates over jew stereotypes. A cacophony of voices have dissected the size and significance of Cooper's elongated prosthetic nose - a feature that has been long associated with jews. Some users have posted photographs to emphasize that Bernstein's actual nose bore little resemblance to the exaggerated prosthetic. 'Given the striking resemblance, it seems entirely gratuitous to have taken this path. The real Leonard Bernstein did not possess the comical nose that Bradley Cooper sports in ‘Maestro’, a user commented. ‘Quit lying pinocchio’, another user commented claiming the film just resembles ‘Nazi propaganda’. Netizens are questioning the rationale behind Cooper's adoption of a prosthetic nose considering his own natural nose is quite elongated. https://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/hollywood/its-a-jewface-stereotype-bradley-cooper-in-the-eye-of-a-storm-with-maestro-makeover-101692159469983-amp.html 1
midnightdawn Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 The more prosthetics the more "transformative" it looks for the Oscar campaign. 4
TaylorNation Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 the comparison pic is sending me dont know that the thought process was here lmao 1
ugo Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Tbh if they made Bradley's nose look the same as Leonard Bernstein it would have been fine but it just doesn't look the same 4
Johnny Jacobs Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) As a jewish guy i dont mind makeup to fit the person. I don't think it's that deep buttttt Why the f they did the nose way bigger? It seems like it was unnecessary. It's not like Bradley's nose is smaller than his. That's what annoys me Edited August 16, 2023 by Johnny Jacobs 4 1

JoeAg Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 as a jewish guy... hmm I don't know how I feel about this honestly. I have to think more on it. people used to make fun of my nose allllll the time and there's a lot of (I know this sounds funny but it's true) nose-related trauma in my mom's family () 4 2
Mr. Mendes Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) 4 minutes ago, SapphireSky said: What's the problem There is a long standing stereotype that all Jewish people have massive hook noses. This was a mainstay of Nazi propaganda artwork to both demonstrate how ethnic Jews were “genetically inferior” according to Hitler’s obsession with Aryan purity and to make them look monstrous so it was easier to make the public fear them. Leonard Bernstein was an ethnic Jew, and his nose is not nearly as large as what the movie is showing. Whether intentional or not, the movie is leaning into the “all Jews have huge pointy and hooked noses” stereotype by making it comically larger and more pointed than Bernstein’s real appearance. Eat The Acid Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 What the hell were they thinking? So damn unnecessary. A childish decision. Bradley Cooper already has a big nose - to elongate it even bigger is absurd and completely unnecessary. I’ve no idea what they were thinking with this….
Gossip_Boy Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 His actual nose looks a lot closer to that of Leonard Bernstein. The prosthetic feels totally unnecessary. 5 1
vale9001 Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 If you put a certain nose to a jewish fantasy character It could be stereotypical. But in this case Is a fact that's the kinda of nose a real character had so the controversy Is useless.

Bradley is playing Bernstein into his old age, when ones nose becomes bigger. His nose might be accurate for Bernstein’s younger years, but not his elderly years.
aesthetic bih Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 for me, the prosthetic nose feels unnecessary 1
cOe Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Bradley's actual nose looks basically identical to Bernstein's so yeah this is very dumb 3
shoganai Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Wasn’t necessary at all and it doesn’t even look closer.
