The album already had too many songs like this. We wanted a River 2.0!

I don't understand why they kept this off the album just to release it now?

I'm so confused by how they just pur it in the standard tracklist. Not even a "Deluxe Edition" rebrand :deadbanana:

Yeah, this

Better initial numbers than I expected, the promo clearly made noise and people bothered to check it out. Posts about the song are also doing well on Facebook (yeah, ik :dies:), which means that her AC audience tuned in to watch the special last night.

I just can’t get past the fact that she had TOMO and she put this out instead :hoetenks:

Well thankfully it is then :sistrens:

I would definitely get a PCR test soon if you could, loss of taste is a symptom of Covid-19! I hope everything is alright

Yup, looks like this might be a hit with the oldies :deadbanana4: 4 years ago we would have never expected this would be happening nnn

Yep yall need to realize where the real money is. Her recent rebrands have made older fans jump on board. Flowers was a rare young to old full crossover SMASHA. Hopefully this can get a fraction of that total crossover.

Not this 2020 ass drag, i hope everything is alright indeed! :deadbanana2:

ANYWAY, so glad to see this doing well on Apple Music :heart2: Plastic Hearts and Flowers really did wonders for her streaming power, it's kinda insane actually

Maybe they planned on ESV being bigger than what it is and hoped this song would keep the album’s success a float

I think we'll see more of this. New single releases later in an album cycle to revive the era.

True, I could see this becoming a tactic since it's so hard to get a hit post-album release nowadays

Flowers was very very mutligenerational so it makes sense. Also the UTBY promo was much more traditional (posters, TV special) than just social media

I think they were aiming for Gen X/Millennials with this, and it might work!

It's also very smart of Miley to pander to Hot AC. If Pop starts snubbing her, they remain very loyal.

I can see this one being a moderate hit. Miley should've polished the song more if she wanted to attract more attention but still.

Yeah as seen with people like Pink, pandering to Hot AC is kinda the only reliable way to secure an audience well past your 20s. (Dance/Synth)-Pop audiences like ze gheys are just way too fickle and ageist. :giraffe:
