On my second listen now and tbh the only “botched” song is Style (and the “ah-ah-ah-ah” before the last chorus in New Romantics) - the rest are pretty much similar/ improved upon (especially I Know Places and Clean )

You can complain about the production is not as good as you expect, but to say 1989 sounds good only because of Max and not the girl who write the lyrics and melody is insane.

Ot, style was the only bad song and thats because there's no backing vocals chanting with her, the intro is actually ok, it's the chorus
