luckythisway Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Since Gaga, Billie had the most meteoric rise to fame in mainstream pop with her 2019 debut album. 2 years later, Interscope did it again with Olivia. All things considered (streams, sales, awards, impact, etc.), which debut era is bigger? Please don’t hesitate to post any receipts to support your choice.
roso Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 They're on par imo SOUR as an album is bigger, which is incredible given how recent it is, but Billie during WWAFAWDWG was inescapable and the bigger celebrity, plus collecting awards left and right
Hot Volcano Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Sour easily. Bad guy was Billie's only mainstream hit. The others gained streams over time, had amazing longevity but they were never actual smash hits like Olivia's songs. 2
superben Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Billie by far. She was such a phenomenon during that era. 1
Cain Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Billie literally won ALL big 4 Grammys in a single night her debut was a reset 7
AvadaKedavra Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Olivia was big but Billie was a phenomenon similar to Gaga back in 2019-2020. You were all just too old to realize darlings
Solaria Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Olivia’s is bigger by the numbers but if we’re really analytical, on a pop culture level Billie felt way bigger 1
Post Malone Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 The one that had more #1 hits (than the other's career), more weeks in the top 10, and outstreamed despite having half the amount of singles, less tracks, and half the time out 1 4
Alex Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Billie and its not even close, no matter what the olivia stans on here try to tell you 12 1
brraap Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Billie cemented herself as the voice of a generation with her debut. The other girl was just a quick lil pop star 5

Billie was THEE force in music industry, there's no deny that she will stay and was the main part of a huge shift in pop music. while we still doubting if Olivia could really have her own sound, her lane like Billie or will fade away. 1
byzantium Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 They are pretty close regardless of what ATRL tell you. I’d give the edge to sour. 1 1
Cotton Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) Honestly Billie’s debut was more of a cultural phenomenon due to how big her star power was but Olivia has basically pulled better numbers with Sour in less time. I’d say they’re on par. Edited August 9, 2023 by Cotton
ToraeGilt Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Billie was the bigger celebrity, her unique tone and aesthetic helped cemented her pop status. If we’re speaking numbers, Olivia wacked her several times
B-Luke Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Billie was EVERYWHERE. The same way Britney & Gaga were when they debuted. 1

duybeeGAshantiGA Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) I mean if you go on the streets in an Asian country and ask a random young person, they would know who Billie Eilish is. Cant say the same about the other girl. Edited August 9, 2023 by duybeeGAshantiGA 2
