There will be blowback and I can almost guarantee the next governor will be a Democrat. The MAGAs in FL are loud online, but there are millions of Floridians who are pissed at everything DeSantis is doing because he is causing a genuine problem for them in terms of home insurance, cost of living, etc. Thank you for highlighting this. People need to realize that there are MANY of us in Florida that are ******* PISSED at how he's ruining this state. Home insurance, cost of living, etc. are absolutely ridiculous right now and are only getting worse. 1
Chiidish Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 People laughing, making fun of, and writing off FL. Normally it’s good fun but honestly even I’m super fatigued at this point, I’ve never voted red and despise Desantis and the GOP but I can’t just move and I can’t undo my degrees here (yay being seen as not competitive even though I got my degrees years ago). This place is a hellhole, if this next election isn’t a blue tsunami this state is well and truly beyond recovering (I’ve thought this place was the pits when 2016 happened but it’s been outdoing itself every year since).
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Despite being the Sunshine State, Florida manages to stray further from the light everyday.

Same here, but there is alot of voter fraud happening here as well to keep these trash republicans in office
spree Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I live in Florida too and I think they want us all to leave (or die, lbr) But we should fight instead!!

spree Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I wouldn't be surprised to see Biology go next, as they'll try and not teach evolution. 2

For context - Dems did so poorly in Florida in 2022 that Dems underperformed polls by 8 points. Rubio won with a higher double-digit total than Grassley did. Florida is redder than Iowa and Ohio.

I do not know how other parts of the FL gov't will fare, but the next governor will be a Dem.
