Again the source i talked about told me it's very explicit (with gay sex). Then the centre of his live was her wife, it's not like a secondary character, she was very important. So thinking they should make only a movie about him hooking with boys makes no sense. The choice of the poster could be cause the movie put the condition of women at the centre of the plot. The role she has in her relationship can be a metaphore of women's role in society. And of course Carey Mulligan is over the phase of being on a movie as the secondary character of the wife of.... a prominent role for her was predictable if she accepted it. Movies can be about more than one thing, but It doesn’t sit right with me to take one of the few people in classical music that were highly relevant and homossexual, in a time of deep sexual persecution, to make a comment about women’s role in society in a heterossexual relationship, that he kept as a façade, even though he cared deeply about her. They could have written any anonymous character for Carey to play set in the 1940s. Such movie was already made by the way and it’s called Far from Heaven with Julianne Moore. I’ll wait to see how his sexuality is portrayed to have a final judgment, but the teasers are not cutting it so far. 1

D_Man3379 Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Wasn’t he closeted most of his life? If so I can see why they mainly focus most on his straight marriage. It’s sad but true how much in the past, queer people put on a façade to be deemed worthy to society and to live “prosper.”

ZIVERT Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Weird prosthetic aside, I’m excited to see this movie. The cinematography looks stunning!
hawx23 Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 People are ALL OVER this on Reddit because of the prosthetic nose. What do y'all think? I thought it was completely unnecessary....it's giving me Yunioshi from Breakfast at Tiffany's vibes.

hawx23 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 I'm not advocating it's offensive. But unnecessary, distracting, and an odd directorial choice..um maybe
