Vegvisir Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 She's bagged Best New Artist + a sleeper hit snatching of Song Of The Year with "Good Luck Babe!" - bookmark me. 4

I can't wait to see how successful she becomes as her popularity grows -- it's truly exciting! The most Gaga-esque song she has is Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl. It straight up sounds like Fame-Ga/BTW-Ga. 2
roman19911 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 I am so happy, that she is finally getting the recognition she deserves! It will be super interesting to see, how she does in the following months. I mean her last album is blowing up, so what will she do? Re-release some of them as singles? IT reminds me of Lizzo. How her old songs started to become singles, after the public finally discovered them. 2
pigeon Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 (edited) She is coming to my city but for a festival, so i'm gonna skip it. Edited June 24, 2024 by pigeon

Her GovBall set was incredible and everyone around us was doing the HOT TO GO dance and it felt soooo special (unless you hate crowds then I take back everything) 1
drip drop Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 California is the perfect track. I love how she tells her journey showing where she is today against all the obstacles. The song is a thesis for the album. I wish it was the closer track instead of Guilty Pleasure, I also think GP would work better inbetween. Going back to track- she had been trying to break into almost for 4-5 years or maybe more, right? She starts to song by singing she had dreams and wanted to pursue them, then continues "I was never told that I wasn't gonna get the things I want the most" as if she had a big support system. After these lines she sings she was discouraged by everyone, she missed her hometown, she is not sure if her family will be proud (I see lots of Pink Pony Club vibes in these lines), but she still kept going and believed she would achieve her dreams. Then "come get me out of" part comes, she wants to go back where she was once. Coming to recent times- she now has 4-5 songs in Billboard 100, Good Luck Babe is in top 10. She will sell out her next tour and her next album will sell good numbers. On top of all these she is openly lesbian which is so cool. From giving up on your dreams, as stated in California, to have your first top 10 hit... What we have here is a real success story and I'm not sure what was the last time the pop culture, or The Culture in general, had this much of a star power and ambitious person in the 21st century. Idk, some will say Gaga and that's right and I love her, but still- Chappell just feels so different. 1
Uncatena Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 her getting her flowers after all this time is just so pleasing. I remember listening to Red Wine Supernova a few months ago and being like "this girl is gonna be huge" and here we are. 6
Kristie Kuwa Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 The best songs on the album (if u disagree, go argue with ur mom): Red Wine Supernova After Midnight Kaleidoscope Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl These are all so great, with the addition of GLB being one of the most well-crafted song of 2024. An absolut behemoth of a song
FameFatale Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 My rankings... It was so hard! 1. Pink Pony Club 2. Red Wine Supernova 3. After Midnight 4. Casual 5. Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl 6. My Kink is Karma 7. Naked in Manhattan 8. Coffee 9. Femininominon 10. Hot To Go 11. Picture You 12. California 13. Guilty Pleasures 14. Kaleidoscope 1
makeawish Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 ok, this is a snapshot ranking (i can remember when super graphic would have been #1 easily, it's slipped down a bit now): red wine supernova my kink is karma hot to go guilty pleasure naked in manhattan super graphic ultra modern girl femininomenon pink pony club coffee california after midnight casual picture you kaleidoscope i don't really not enjoy any of them but i'm definitely less into the ballads (and i'm not anti ballad as such, there was a time when coffee esp was higher). picture you has been growing on me lately (it's a 7 i guess), reminds me a bit of bar italia by pulp in the way it uses that old 50s motif in a more modern way (it's still second from bottom) 1
PoisonPill Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 The fact that the entire album is smashing with this much public interest in her entire catalogue is a really, really good sign for her future. We are witnessing the ascendance of a long-term legacy artist with a fiercely loyal fanbase and gp support. Not to be too bold, but it's giving early Taylor teas. 1 1
Timber Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I think the only song I don't really love is my kink is my karma, it gives too much Taylor Swift teas. Most of the rest of the album sounds like classic after classic after classic. It's giving Adele 21 teas imo. 1 1
xXavril Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I don't understand the Taylor swift comparisons because she would never write something so obvious as MKIK "using your distress as foreplay" "kArMa Is A cAt" 3 3

Prismee Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 US Apple Music: 21. Good Luck, Babe 123. HOT TO GO 163. Red Wine Supernova 197. Pink Pony Club i didn't realize she's smashing on AM so hard too, last i checked she was only charting one song GLB is so going top 10 on H100 next week 2
Julia Fox Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Im obsessed with Casual tbh so heartbroken and intense, you can tell she was feeling IT even more during the last chorus omg also HOT TO GO, Pink Pony Club, Naked In Manhattan, Femininimenon, Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl and California are my faves. I knew her on the pandemic when Pink Pony Club came out and became obsessed with it, I love her southern accent because it gives a very special edge to her voice and the vibe of the songs and I knew she was dropped and thought she was gonna be another artists that could have been big but became dripped be wise of mismanagement but I'm glad she didn't stopped 2
charmed23 Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 The lack of love here for My Kink is Karma. The melody, the lyrics, the production, the buildup, the climax, the video. It's everything. You tasteless! 1 1
ahauntingnearu Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 5 hours ago, kayliah said: I'll give the album a listen cuz she is an exciting new talent. I get the drag queen gay appropriation drama and i wish she didnt have to resort to that to attract attention and be successful. Like good luck babe is amazing i would love to see kayleigh sing it. Same goes with lady gaga. Stefani was great on her own. New exciting voice, im torn between her, boone and carpenter for best new artist. Carpenter took a long time to get that success. And boone and roan are just pure vocal talents and have huge stage presence. Carpenter writes great songs full of personality and quotable lines. Oh gosh... ???? 2
State of Grace. Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I really hope the label doesn't end up throwing Good Luck, Babe! on a deluxe version of this album. She did say that she doesn't want to make an expanded edition of Midwest Princess so I hope the song can be the lead of #CR2, or even a standalone track. Even if she just started working on her sophomore album last month, she can drop singles until next year. Meanwhile, people are still discovering this album and it will have several hits by the end of the year. 7
Kristie Kuwa Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 SGUMG needs to become a single and smash HARD. So addictive Then After Midnight can come to smash. And then, when people would think Chappell is all about bops, she can snatch them bald with Kaleidoscope in Fall/Winter 2024, rounding it off with a performance of GLB and Kaleidoscope live at the Grammys 1

Johnnyboi Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Pink Pony Club debuted at #90 this week. Casual is at #8 on the bubbling under. Hopefully that can debut next week. 4
