It looks like studios are interested to go back to negotiations this week, so that's a start.

Do we have a window to when this will end?

Nope. They can drag it out into the new year.

Let's not get political this is a pop music site...

This. Hollywood wanted to get political and alienate half of their audience and look where that got them... Some people never learn.

What about all the industries they are affecting BESIDES themselves? The VFX workers, editors, labs, etc? :giraffe:

Ask the studios, who are refusing to actually come to the table in good faith with the writers and actors. Not those who are fighting for better conditions and rights.

Exactly. All because they want to get pay permanently for a job they do twice? Imagine if the contractors of the houses we live in would come asking for recurrent payouts because they painted a wall once.

SAG needs to hurry up. The dollar per stream request seems a bit overkill since it’s not going directly towards the actors but to SAG itself. They’re gonna have renegotiations anyways, three years but this is starting to affect too many to go on and the damage is gonna lead to a lot of people hosing their jobs even once the strike is over. I think for the GP it was easier to empathize with WGA than SAG because of the optics difference. Hopefully the top actors meetings accomplished something

This needs to get done before  November or the goose is cooked

I hope they get the deal they want. They deserve to get good residuals for streaming (which is the future and not going away, cable is literally dying) and to stop AI :heart2:

Strike is officially over as of today

That’s great news! Although the fact that they will review everything in three years seems like they all agreed to work but the studios will still try to pursue the AI agenda on the low
