And if Folklore hasn't even crossed 5M in the U.S. (aka Taylor's biggest market by far) how on earth has it already crossed 10M worldwide?

"even 5M"

Only 2 Rihanna albums out of 8 reached that with highest one standing at 6M so i wouldn't use that for global standarts if i was you :rip:

So Folklore hasn't crossed 5M in a market where Taylor moves over 70% of her units,

1989

Global Sales - 26.9M

US Sales - 11M

US to WW ratio - 40%

Reputation

Global Sales - 13.1M

US Sales - 6M

US to WW ratio - 45%

Lover

Global Sales - 12.9M

US Sales - 5.5M

US to WW ratio - 42%

Folklore

Global Sales - 10.8M

US Sales - 4.7M

US to WW ratio - 43%

------

ANTI

Global Sales - 10.3M

US Sales - 5.5M

US to WW ratio - 52%

In this case it is more questionable for Anti since it is more US-centered than any Taylor album in the last 10 years

Since when 6-7x Platinum not much? :priceless:

Acting like some of Taylor's albums aren't frontloaded bombs revived by multiple releases and payola'd streams..

Weeks on the BB200

Evermore - 136 weeks (Taylor's 9th longest charting album)

Good Girl Gone Bad - 113 weeks
Loud - 78 weeks
Unapologetic - 77 weeks
Talk That Talk - 57 weeks
Rated R - 45 weeks
A Girl Like Me - 45 weeks
Music Of The Sun - 35 weeks

idk where that 10.3m coming from. Anti had sold 11m units worldwide as of January 2021 according to Roc Nation/Universal (so... actual official figures)

and considering the album has moved 1m-1.5m units in the US alone since 2021... it's likely to be at 13m worldwide by now, at least.

But fake streams? (evermore’s playlisting is next to 0) But multiple formats???? (It has 1 CD and 2 vinyl - Standard and Target exclusive) :bloo:

the lies y'all have to come up with... it's getting embarrassing ladies

Pure album sales, according to y'all favorite source chartmasters.org

Adele - 63.4m

Taylor - 56.5m

Beyoncé - 34.4m

Rihanna - 33.5m

Lady Gaga - 31.2m

Katy Perry - 16m

are the "abysmal album sales compared to any of her peers" in the room with us right now ?

giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e47hqkc0sv34kk7nso9v6

So considering pure sales pre-streaming era

Adele - 20M average (highest at 30M)

Taylor - 8.2M average (highest at 10.6M)

Beyonce - 6.2M average (highest at 10.2M)

Gaga - 6.1M average (highest at 13M)

Katy - 5M average (highest at 6.9M)

Rihanna - 4.5M average (highest at 9.1M)

I fear they are in the room with us right now

Maybe it's because it's not certified yet. Anti is 6 years old and folklore 2 years old :rip: Certifications take time and don't happen in the first years of an album

Btw these official charts don’t count Asia

So  Folklore would have even more official units @lonnie

Nice to read that!

You know, because 23 years ago there was even less markets around the world, so the access to Music (album) was even harder.

So Music would have even MORE official units nowadays accessibility :clap3:

it was harder in the pass to access to music, and yet Madonna OUTSOLD both girls. Wooow

I said back in during that time. Rihanna didn't have any gigantic sellers like her contemporaries despite her racking up hit after hit after hit (her best selling digital single is a feature also)

Isnt her best selling album in the US an album from 2007 that had a remix album and a re-release? And it only sold ~3M pure :deadbanana4:

Pure sales:

- ANTI : 1.458M

- folklore 4.095M

Youtube views:

- ANTI : 2.712B = 1.8M units (1500 streams = 1 album unit ratio)

- folklore : 780M = 520k units

Spotify streams:

- ANTI : 6.036B = 4M units (1500 streams = 1 album unit ratio)

- folklore : 5.343B = 3.5M units

Single sales:

- ANTI : 8.75M = 875k units (10 sales = 1 album unit ratio)

- folklore : 580k = 58k units

Total:

ANTI - 8.133M

folklore - 8.173M

These partial numbers for ANTI and folklore are basically equal currently (which is what I said earlier in this thread). But considering their current trajectory + the fact that ANTI is 4.5 years older, it's pretty clear that folklore is the bigger album.

For now Music is bigger than both. Time will tell if folklore and/or ANTI can surpass it. So far they are still about 3M behind so it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Music, but folklore is also huge too (the way taylor keeps getting old songs to be huge hits, I wouldn't be surprised if folklore had another hit up its sleeve)

Anti aged like milk and is pretty forgotten

Another reason why summing certifications and comparing them is stupid is that conversion rules of streaming/singles sale are not consistent accross countries. That's why CM unified formula is much better.

The Papa John's thing wasn't free albums, they were being sold there like some albums used to be sold at Starbucks. Are you really going to compare a 0.39 single (mind that for a single to count as 1 album sales it needs 10-15 purchases) to a 0.99 ALBUM? :deadbanana4:

They would deliver it to your doorstep for free if you bought a pizza worth at least $13. A free giveaway basically :rip:

Technically $12 (pre-tax) as the pizza was $10 but still basically fully priced.
