Great then she can perform for 130,418,365 people for 10 dollars at a local theater!!!! I wonder how that will go. :deadbanana2:

ROLLING STONE: Most Devoted Swifties Are Suburban, Millennial, and White, New Survey Finds

Of those who are fans of Swift, 16% identified as an “avid” fans. In other words, 16 in every 100 people living in the U.S. is a Swiftie. The study also provided a demographic breakdown of those who consider themselves “avid” fans and found that the majority of them (or should I say “us”?) identify as white, are millennials, and live in the suburbs.

According to the study, a whopping 74% are white; 52% are women; 45% are millennials; and 53% of those surveyed identify as living in the suburbs.

The survey was conducted with 2,204 U.S. adults between March 3 and 5. Of those, 365 fans self-identified as dedicated fans of Taylor Swift.

The report also found that 73% of those who considered themselves avid fans named Swift’s music as a “major driving force” behind their affinity for Swift. (Duh!) Half the surveyed pinned their affinity on her performances and music videos, while 42% thought her reliability made her a fave.

The frustration with ticket prices may have to do with the income demographic of those who consider themselves avid fans of Swift since, according to the study, half of them have a household income of under $50,000. (And only 25% make more than $100,000 a year.)

Not every fan is a dedicated fan, and not every fan wants to go to a show, it would be like saying that just because The Weeknd has more than a 100m Spotify listeners monthly that he could sell out a 100m attendance tour. It is just not possible.

People don't go to live shows because it is hard and not convenient. If you just had to pay 10 dollars to see Taylor at any time you want near your home much more people would go even people that aren't necessarily fans.

In practice that's impossible, that's why the comparison between Barbie audiences and Taylor tours is compeletely unfair.

-that you are delusional and giving coping conspiracy theorist energy? Oh for sure!

Don't worry tho, I'm sure you can find other deluded individuals on this forum who would be glad to add the fraudulence excuse to their coping mechanism and blindly believe that the Eras Tour is the most viewed tour ever on TikTok only because the CEO of TikTok improbably decided so!

It's hard to say.

It's funny, I was just thinking the other day how Barbie movie mania is giving Swifite and Disney Adult vibes (typical millennial white woman vibes I guess, lol)

3 lines being 2 paragraphs. Sorry if that was a lot for you I guess?

OT: This is still a weird comparison - it's practically impossible to compare a tour with a movie :deadbanana4:

Girl cmon now calm down with the "personal attacks" and victimization. Saying that a user is being delusional for spinning a conspiracy theory about the CEO of a company using fraudulent views on their own app for a pop star's tour is most definitely not abrasive :priceless: You randomly acting gagged because I responded to you with a 3-line text and me saying "sorry if that was a lot for you I guess" is also not abrasive :priceless: Feel free to go ahead and report that one too I guess!

Eh, it really wouldn't. Being a monthly listener just means you streamed a song by one artist at least once in the last 28 days. That's different than actively identifying as a fan of said artist.

You insulting my intelligence and playing dumb at the same time is insane. Pick a struggle or go take your anger out on the Tiktok CEO :rip:

Not sure how the two are comparable, but Barbie since it is a movie and far wider reaching to the GP and influential to them because of that.

The Barbie film is a cultural phenomenon. Taylor's tour is cute for her fans though.

Both are cultural phenomenons. The impact of Taylor's tour (cultural, economic, political...) goes way beyond her fans too. Let's not act as if the Eras Tour is only cute for the fans and has no ramification outside the hardcore fanbase - it clearly does.

This feels like a weird comparison.

Both are big pop culture phenomenons this year. I'll say that Barbie is more accessible as it is cheaper to watch a movie than a concert. It's much easier for me to make plans to go see Barbie than to go see Taylor as well as you're more likely to come across movie theaters than concert venues as well.

Barbie, plus it will also outgross it, AND be viewed my MILLIONS once it goes on VOD + streaming!
