One movie doesn't make you suddenly box office elixier.

Let's see first how her next movie is doing :gaycat:

Exactly.

I mean you know it’s not her when Nicki is havung a song that comes back to the top 20 after the first week. They’re riding the Barbie established brand, not themselves.

I feel like the movies are usually bigger than her. There hasn't been a story that I'm excited to watch because she's in it

It’s all barbie…. Lbr

Who else would've been as gorgeous as her as Barbie while acting perfectly? Literally nobody.

Yea no the film is a success cause it's toted as barbie but for adults. Barbie is massively popular brand that every female and gay connected with so this was basically just nostalgia for everyone. Margot deserves everything but people didn't run to see this because it's a new Margot Robbie film they ran for barbie

the industry is falling apart and her recent bombs had nothing to do with her.

Emma Stone could’ve done it justice.

The romantic movie with Gosling again next year it's coming for big numbers too (also because of the Barbie and Ken effect). So yes.

All depends on how her next projects do. People already love her, she’s one of the most likable and hot female stars out there

her flop era is over and she will only thrive from now on :WAP:

Her successes have nothing to do with her either. All she’s ever done is ride the coattails of bigger stars (ie: DiCaprio, Pitt) or intellectual property (ie: Harley Quinn, Barbie).

And nobody needs to quote me about I Tonya, either, because biopics of famous people are just another form of brand name intellectual property movies.

No she’s in a movie with extremely good brand recognition and high interest. Tom’s movie is underperforming and Top Gun Maverick was last years film of the year

“People didn’t go for her” but let it had been Amy Shumer still. You think they’d still be packing theaters?

Yes. People were excited because Greta Gerwig directed. They still would have been excited just the same even if the lead actress was someone else. The success of this movie has absolutely nothing to do with this woman.

Love her but no one went to see the movie just for her.

What?!

Barbie is successful BECAUSE Margot Robbie is basically seen as THE beauty standard in the movie industry at the moment. She was THE perfect casting. She doesn’t even have an Instagram but almost every press conference photo I’ve seen posted by news sites is getting 1-3M likes

Barbie is a smash because Margot actually has the beauty Barbie was meant to be but is also a talented and likeable actress.

Every comment on the internet was thanking the heavens it was her and not Amy Schumer where it would have flopped horribly

Touch grass. Go outdoors. I promise you nobody in real life knows or cares who Greta Gerwig is

The GP are watching for the Barbie franchise and because they quite like Margot and Ryan

Before the movie came out, a lot of people were questioning the movie's reason for existence (it is Barbie after all) but they were saying they are optimistic about it being a good product in the end because Greta Gerwig is involved, who is an esteemed director.

You can check it on reddit or dig for old forum posts during the movie's production period on movie forums if you don't believe me. Greta Gerwig being involved had a huge effect.

don't think so. Love her but it's really hard to sell a movie with one movie star especially now. You either need an iconic movie series or a star ensemble not just one movie star

That’s an actual lie. And to think audiences care more about Greta - who only a portion of avid movie goers would even know- is ludicrous.
