Oh it’s clear to most of us she’s THE modern day titan that the Beatles were of their time. But for some people they won’t admit it until time has passed and she has started to fade. I think people have a hard time accepting a legacy being built in the moment and would rather look back on it in the future with newfound fondness and hindsight. In 10 years time it’ll be clear to everyone that she is the biggest solo artist of our time. Taylor will be a top 5 artist with Elvis, MJ, Madonna, and The Beatles when all is said and done

I think the reason she’s not given the same accolades is because she’s essentially spam releasing music.

Like imagine the Beatles in their prime also re-releasing every song they’ve ever recorded :dies:

… The Beatles released 12 albums in 7 years. Goodbye.

13 if you count the White Album twice.

I was at a gay club Saturday night and I heard a dance mix of it, that was when I had to fall to my knees and give in to the fact it has officially permeated the mainstream. Why on earth it was playing at a gay dance club is beyond me but it’s officially a hit outside of just country music :gaycat6:

And Taylor has released 7 albums in 4 years (not even counting all of her separately released versions of those albums).

But Taylor isn’t getting dominant hits from these spam releases. Since Lover she’s only gotten Anti-Hero that’s really been a smash hit with Cruel Summer now also joining the ranks.

If she was getting genuine GP smash hits with these spammed album releases then yeah, it would be a little more undeniable but she has not scored many GP hits since Lover, or even Reputation. That’s what’s making people don’t compare them.

how Ice Spice is still credited in Karma if that version isn't doing numbers :rip:

Radio is playing the remix mostly. I have heard the solo version but the remix is the one that gets played more and during peak hours too

Cool to see, too bad there wasn't a push to get another #1 ugh

Ok and she would need to release 5 more in the next 3 years to match what they did within 7 years, which is unlikely since there’s only 3 rerecordings left and maybe 1 original album. So she’s still not even going to reach their peak output despite you thinking she’s spamming releases.

It’s not like the legendary rock bands of the 70s-80s have dozens of hit singles, they probably have like 3 or 4 ubiquitous worldwide classics and yet they are revered for the quality of their albums and the successes they have in touring decades past their commercial peaks. That’s the kind of artist Taylor is.

It’s clear that singles alone don’t carry an artist’s legacy, you need to have albums and tours that people are willing to revisit even decades and decades later — like what was observable of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Elton John, Elvis, The Eagles, Led Zepplin, and Michael Jackson etc in the 2000s, decades after their commercial peaks.

The way Ice Spice is being credited for this top10 when Karma remix is not charting neither on Spotify nor Apple Music :deadbanana2:

I think Billboard create a page for the song and named it as Taylor Swift & Ice Spice and don't create a page for the solo song. The same happens with Ariana Grande, who is being credited in the 69 weeks of Save Your Tears, when it only charted for 50 weeks after it's release.

Just listened to Fast Car for the first time and whew...it sounded exactly how you'd expect it to sound. Absolutely terrible :deadbanana2: Another country cover butchering a classic   Top 2 is serving Birth of a Nation (colorized) :gaycat7:

Im sure she is sad she is not getting hits with  rerecordings of 10-15 year old songs + vault songs that were left off the album for a reason :sadviolin:
And releasing 2 folk albums that sound like nothing else in the streaming charts atm :sadviolin:
She literally just released 2 pop albums in that timeframe.. with which she scored 2 genuine WW hits (Anti-Hero & Cruel Summer) and then some minor hits with good longevity on streaming like Karma & Lover (single)
