It’s the label fault. I hope they let Tinashe does what she wants from now on. She has had two successful independent projects, she is not a novice. I don’t understand how you going to sign an artist like tinashe but still try to control her art.

As Stan we know she has better material, hopefully the other single will get proper budget.

guys don’t drag me, I know it hasn’t been a week yet. Where is the promo? She just disappeared again.

Oh it’s the label’s fault for sure! We’ll see what happens with single #2

Okay y'all gotta stop that.

Tinashe and the label's relationship is in the early stages and adjustments and compromise are common at this point.

Sure there may be some issue with the release of the single, but even if it was release on 7/6 like initial planned. I wouldn't be a massive difference.

I have faith in Tinashe that she had learned from her prev. experience and really checked for a label that matches her needs.  That's why she took so long to start the next era even when she finished this album early last year.

Just keep streaming and supporting Tinashe. That's what we need to do the most.

Didn’t someone in here say that the label wanted the 1st video that was shot and Tinashe hated it so she re made it and this is the result? If that’s true then why are people blaming the label :michael:

the same old complaints. And now that she's on this small label, ppl are going to bring back the "the label needs to let her be in control" complaints too. It's annoying lol

this! and tbh if y’all really wanted something more, you would’ve linked up with the barbz to push this and barbie world on streaming because they want the streams and i know at least two important tinashe twitter page admins are in this thread and could’ve pulled that off if they wanted.

that being said, no more label complaints until there’s actually something real to complain about cause right now, all i’m seeing is tinashe getting her way regardless and that’s all that matters.

Ok I'm lowkey obsessed with this now. Perfect song to smoke and vibe to :jamming: she did what she needed to do with this one

That was me based on info given by a reliable source who’s a friend of Tinashe’s. And it makes sense. The video the label wanted was most likely the same concept, but it turned out horribly, so they had scrap it. So, this final version is most likely the end result of a large portion of the budget being wasted.

All I’m going to say is that Tinashe would not have joined a label that allows them to change/dictate her vision/artistry.
She’s learned and is smarter than that, so we can’t start blaming the label for things we perceive as minimal just because it doesn’t align with what you were expecting from the video.

I don't think a song like this was ever going to get a big video, they're saving the budget

I don't know if someone has talked about this but what is the 10.1 in her bio? album in II acts or something else?

It means shes being controlled by the LABEL. She is trying to warn us they made her sign for TEN more albums in ONE shady contract. Nice Life owns her art now, we are all doomed. An enemy of Tinashe’s cat also told me that BB/ANG3L represents her becoming a bad b*tch angel because her artistic freedom is now DEAD.

The second single will also sample Light Up the Night and have an AI britney feature.

I don’t think anyone is dragging Tinashe or questioning her choice to sign a distribution deal with a label. That was something she eventually needed to do anyway. The difference in playlisting so far has been great. She did stand her ground prior to signing with them and after signing with them. In the end, she was able to show them that her vision (the video we got) is best. It’s ok to have an open discussion about how the label had their own vision that wasn’t what she wanted and ultimately led to her being able to go back to them with the first version of the video, which was messy, and prove to them that her way is how they were going to fix it. I don’t think anyone here is saying this is another RCA situation. It’s just an unfortunate disagreement that thankfully ended with Tinashe proving that her artistic vision is the best approach. Pointing out the reasoning behind a minimalist video doesn’t equate to a Joyride era meltdown.

off topic, but I really wish would’ve kept Energy for a project. It’s SOOOO good!

Like the “minimalist” video still had some budget clearly and the playlisting was probably the best I’ve ever seen her get :dies:

yes queen deserves payola and sold out stadiums but it’s a marathon not a sprint
