Well venom ended on the 30s on mc and smashed

But auds are less forgiving of female led films

it's in the 20s now, so even your hopeful logic can't save it anymore :eli:

This movie is a mess :ahh:

I thought it was boring in the beginning but towards the middle and end, unintentionally funny.

After Beyond the spider-verse is released, Sony should just revert the rights to Marvel.

I am honestly still shocked they haven’t looked at how massive Miles Morales is right now. Who in the office thought we wanted Madame Web, Morbius and Kraven :deadbanana4:

I can at least understand Venom since that’s a Known and beloved Spidey character. But did Sony really expect people to rush to the theaters for this😭

What was thissss :deadbanana4:

where did they put the budget??

The CGI.. abysmal

the fight sequences.. non existent

Did they just sink $80M into name actors :deadbanana2:

It was a fun little time :dies: I think I just wanted to have fun, so I had a blast. The editing was HORRIBLE though. Within the first 5 minutes, it was so jarring to go from scene to scene :rip: also, yes, the guy who plays the villain was horrible. Dakota’s performance was camp, and when she really leaned into the comedy, she was funny.

Spoiler

I HATED that their costumes were neglected to montages :deadbanana4:

can the girlies tell me in spoiler tags about the length (in mins) of the total action sequence for this? nnn the comments has me worrying it won't be 5 mins max.

Spoiler

It’s definitely more than 5 minutes overall. The first few times they encounter the bad guy, those actual scenes arent too long (subway and diner scenes shown in trailer). It’s mostly them just escaping or Cassandra’s vision of them brutally losing. Only the last scene is really action packed, and it lasts for a good 10 alone.

I thought it would be more like an origin story with no action based on what i've read nnn thanks!

I'm not sure where Sony can go after the BTS verse is released. If Marvel were given back ownership of the Spider-Man Characters, that they may mess up some of the time with their movies but I can't see them ever putting out a movie as bad as Morbius or Madame Web.

Why isn’t this thread popping off?

if this was another male dominated marvel film it would be 20+ pages in

It is truly bizarre that something like this got approved to make :rip: the script is awful.

It's set in 2003 and totally feels like a movie that could've came out at that time... and not in the good way.

screaming at them ramming the birth of Peter Parker in here

I screamed at the 2003 references

The Beyoncé crazy in love CGI ad that lasted WAYYYYY too long

Britney’s toxic playing and being called a future big hit but then the spider girls saying “you know this song!”

Cassandra saying she wants to watch Idol :deadbanana4:

The timing is also off cause In the Zone came out November 2003 and Toxic was a single in 2004 :ahh:

It’s a Thursday opening Night show, and there is only 1 other person in my theater 😭 I’m so embarrassed I might just get up and go home… the concession stan lady was judging me so hard when she saw my ticket

Okay genuine question.. why did it look like every line Ezekiel had was dubbed in :deadbanana4: his lips didn't match a single word he said???

I will say.. I had an absolute kii when they'd flash the girls in their costumes for 0.5s doing junior level karate moves :bibliahh: GET IT GIRLS!

The audio for his line readings was a bit louder too, no?? Like it really did sound like a straight up dub! I wonder if they had him re-voice everything with that “evil” tone he spoke in :deadbanana4:

I was laughing out loud in the theater, Shocked at how bad this was:rip:

This Is a disgrace to Spider-Man.

Spoiler

A Clusterfuck of everything wrong with the Spider-Man Sony live action movies. The acting😭 The 3rd Act CGI. The fact they was like no action but Cassie stealing Public Service vehicles and driving for half the movie:bibliahh: The PepsiCo payola…. The Britney Spears sequence…. The Amazon Spider people :rip: THE DAMN CAMERA FLASHING ALL OVER THE PLACE EVERY 3 seconds. god, it took me back to shaky cam action movies of the mid 2000’s. The fact they never even explained how they get thier powers. I knew the movie was gonna be a mess from that opening with bad acting and morbius level filming… but holy crap it just got worse. Like that final scene of them fighting fireworks:deadbanana4: and that ending scene of them finally in thier suits:bibliahh: I can’t believe this is real. Like how was this allowed to be put in theaters…

I only like the 2003 setting cuz it makes me nostalgic for my preteen years. And Dakota actually made her scenes feel like she was trying to be comical. But god, please keep this tragic mess out of the MCU secret wars. Don’t even get me started on the dialogue and writing. Every word was so literal. Did a highschool English Lit 101 student write this?:rip:

Sony give it up, this is harming ComicBook movies. There are so many other horrible parts of this movie but I could rant all day. Anyways 2/10, worse Spider-Man adjacent film… yes even worse then morbius and that **** gave me Covid 😭😆
