She just announced it was being released...and EVEN IF it was her lead single, how are you honestly going to judge an entire era off of 1 song without hearing the album first? It's just dumb. lead-singles indicate an album's performance so yea

Alldeezy Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 She just dropped an fantastic song? Its arts before charts and im glad she's doing that
Erreur2 La Nature Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 These threads never make any sense, it's just being ignorant. I had no idea Doja Cat was considered a "main popgirl" here but if she's one, you don't loose that status because of one song underperforming 1

The lead tanked Never had a radio impact date. And TTH costs absolutely nothing. Idk why stans continue to perpetuate that lol.
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 She’s a pop star and should focus on pop. Why is she so desperate when it comes to satisfying rap listeners?
Blade Runner Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 She's annoying and rude, and we don't like her anymore.
CBC Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Shes a main pop/rap girl slaying both categories not everyone has that
professor2000 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 33 minutes ago, KatyPrismSpirit said: She said it's not the lead-single after the fact it flopped please... And yes that video definitely had a high budget. It's so apparent. It was literally days after the song came out …y’all really think she follows the numbers that closely? And at the time of her IG live the song was actually doing decent. Lol. As someone who works in music, you can tell based on how this was rolled out that RCA just did this to satisfy Doja’s wishes. It was never meant to be a commercial lead. Rollout was nowhere near as massive as KMM’s rollout.
Archetype Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Just because her alt-rap song flopped? That doesn’t mean she’s given up on pop, it’s like when some of our faves go more experimental/niche for an era and don’t see the same level of success.
Eclass Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 This is her 'Not Myself Tonight'. She will not recover anytime soon. 1
LoveInStereo Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I don’t think she has earned MPG status yet however she has the potential to down the line. This pivot is a necessary move to win credibility. It’s a recalibration moment. Her music has been fun but impersonal & safe. She needs an iconic, career defining project more than chart success. Rih didn’t get her 1st #1 album till Unapologetic but Loud was the moment we all knew she was here to stay. Consider this Doja’s Wait Your Turn? Only time will tell
SuperCiC1 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I'm so over the labels because to me Attn sounds like All Saints meets Aaliyah and that's as pop as it gets.
leyaris11 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 No. She can sing, she can rap and y'all will dealt. "Say So" and "KMM" already certified as a classic.
thatsmydemi Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 The chart obsession. Asking her to go back to pop as soon as her new single underperformed. Let artists grow and experiment with other sounds. Y'all are boring. 1
Abracadabra Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Even if this album doesn’t have the commercial success of Planet Her, aiming for critical acclaim will give her more longevity overall.
Into The Void Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Doja had a hit last year with Vegas I wouldn't cut her out yet
Polgg48 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 so sad she flops so hard and even sexyy red serves longevity more than doja. rap girl competition is far too high atm, just go back to pop asap.
