She's going to do over 3X what Sticky & Sweet did So what you are saying is, that Drake is bigger than her in streaming, hence her not being the biggest artist at the moment. I mean how can she be the biggest when she is behind other artist. 1

She has been ahead of him on the US Spotify Weekly Artist chart every week this year. But overall, Drake is the king of streaming and we know this. We also know male artists do better on streaming overall Drake has peaked and his momentum has slowed, but his back catalog smashes hard in the US. He and Taylor are one in the same in that regard. Midnights is bigger on streaming than any Drake album since Scorpion though
byzantium Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) Y’all are out here discussing the wrong thing. The question of this thread is wrong because Garth Brooks was bigger than Michael Jackson in the US and thus was clearly bigger than Taylor Swift. The man has 9 Diamond albums. Chris Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I guess Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine never existed. 4
Chris Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I am convinced some (not all) Swifties just love to troll or something. 1
ttsmu Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Swifties are so delusional OMG Please name a Taylor song that is more iconic, known and impactful than Thriller or Billie Jean. Not even all her singles together are. Bye. 1 1

The question is if after him, she's the biggest in America. And she is. And my answer is still no. I made it clear. And you're wrong because no one ever can follow Michael Jackson. You'd be laughed at on the streets if you made that statement in the real world.

Again no artist could FOLLOW, become AS successful , Nor COMPARED ....or SINCE MJ ( since you're very particular about your words). I dare you to go out and interview people making that statement. You'd be laughed at. Edited July 6, 2023 by TouchinFree

Doesn't mean second is any closer to 1st.

You cannot deny Beyonce's, Britney's, Whitney's, and Mariah's incredible peaks and influences as well. I'd say if she could pull off another RED and 1989 success rate then she'd be close. Because those were her peaks. Madonna would still be second as she's the reason all other pop girls even exist and nobody could match her success, relevance and impact. Taylor still has yet to become as culturally relevant as Madonna and MJ though. It's not just about the numbers at the end. 3

That’s why he was so big in America. Basing off of how white and beige her concert attendance is, Taylor is nowhere near being the biggest artist since Michael. Too unseasoned. Only appeals to white consumers. That’s her market. Beyoncé is the biggest as she’s been able to build a foundation within both markets. You literally had me up until the very last sentence
btoafy Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 She‘s much biggerthan MJ Billboard alltime chart tells the truth
Damien M Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Michael Jackson > Madonna > Taylor Swift = Beyoncé > Elvis that’s literally IT. However Beyonce should be higher bc she’s a superior artist but she’s a black woman so she naturally sells less. That’s life. Taylor is great though and her success is deserved. She has many inbuilt advantages that Michael and Beyoncé did not, however.

Was it really that divisive? Renny seems like a gradual return to the IASF crossover lane that she’d shied away from the past few years in favor of blacker music (Everything is Love, The Gift). she’ll be fine, she’s too talented to be ignored.
ScubaDive Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 How is Taylor Swift, the literal music industry, not bigger than that creepy pedophile? 1
MingYouToo Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 The answer is YES I fear! The sheer dominance she has over pop culture conversation here and her chokehold on a significant chunk of AA, white and hispanic audiences is insane. 1
