UnusualBoy Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 The fact that this type of discrimination is allowed in that country, US stays being a mess
lonnie Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 A far-right regime, like the one that was there not so long ago, was going to leave its imprint. I remember when I was arguing about this a while back and the American members were convinced that they wouldn't do anything but like right-wing people have been organizing in America and outside of America for years now and want to reap the benefits of their work. They didn't set up that Supreme court the way they did for nothing and I believe it's time the queer and other marginalized communities came together and organized together too.
Erreur2 La Nature Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 (edited) Absolutely insane, devastating and terrifying. How can you vote FOR discriminations ? I feel so sorry and scared for all of the LGBT people in America when I read news like this that legitimate hate. The United States are an absolute mess and a very scary place. It used to look like a dream for all of us ten years ago. Edited June 30, 2023 by Erreur2 La Nature
JoeAg Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 my friend just told me about this. I just woke up and I'm so furious. my heart aches because of this. I can't imagine what my first emotional reaction would be if this were to happen to me or anyone I know. this is so disappointing and painful and I can barely believe it. but that's the reality of this country my great grandparents decided to come to. disgusting and dejecting imagine spending the energy to actively be a bigot. imagine how much energy that takes and yet you choose it. how awful can you be
Miss Show Business Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Yet another great reminder that elections have consequences. All of these awful, misguided decisions could have been prevented in 2016. Not that preventing these decisions would've improved the court: it's very clear there are ideologues on the bench (Alito and Thomas) who will stop at nothing to force the entire country to accept their beliefs. The court needs to be reformed. With congress as dysfunctional as it is, there's virtually no way of checking the court except giving the Democrats a supermajority in both chambers which is unlikely. Though the longer this goes on, the more I realize that our entire system is corrupt and not working anymore. I hope for the best in the end... But who even knows how long it's going to take to reverse all of these decisions.
Orsay Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 does anyone know what the federal laws regarding this were before today? correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think there's ever been a federal law protecting this
Dula Peep Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 this really does set a precedent and now watch as tons of companies will refuse to work with gays because of "religious freedom"
DamianSolo Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 I wouldn't even want to patronize with someone who was discriminatory and didn't want my business. I'll just take my money elsewhere; I'm not begging anyone to do anything. This is a side effect of a much larger problem, though. There's been a resurgence in the level of intolerance and those who grant and excuse it, and I'm not thrilled by the state of the country.
BeenTheShit Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 SCOTUS really said let's end Pride Month with a big old "**** YOU" to the LGBTQ+ community. 8 hours ago, TaggedGalaxy said: All this because ******* Trump was elected Literally... funny now how people finally realize that elections can have grave consequences. I often wonder where we would be if Hillary had been elected instead of the orange buffoon. 1

Italy's far right coalition has voted to invalidate gay parents on their child's birth certificates. Multiple countries are basically transitioning into all out fascism, the US being at the forefront of this movement.
