peso pluma surprise flop on this number, consider he released on thursday that still would have been under 100k. bad bunny already did above that on debut x 100pre, the next superstar they said.

kim charting :superman:

I'm sorry but what is this delusional rewriting of history?

Peso Pluma didn't include his smash with Eslabon Armado, "Ella Baila Sola", on his album, and I'm sure he could have made a deal with them to include the song if he really wanted to. He also didn't include like 9 singles he released this year (between his, duets and collabs), 6 of them which are currently charting in the Hot 100, he also didn't include a 2021 single which is also charting this week. Had he done that, I'm 100% sure he would have beaten Morgan Wallen for the #1, something some of the biggest acts/artists/bands/groups haven't been able to do this year.

I f*ck with Bad Bunny but since you brought him up (and Morgan Wallen, specifying, since I did), I'm not entirely sure why you particularly mentioned 'X 100pre', since that album debuted at #29 and peaked at #11 with 36k units, a number Peso Pluma has far exceeded.

If you wanna compare his subsequent albums that did better numbers, let's also take into account that Peso Pluma's 'GÉNESIS' is a 14-track album and:

Bad Bunny - 'YHLQMDLG': 20 tracks.

Bad Bunny - 'El Último Tour del Mundo': 16 tracks but that's 26 singles and 2 albums (one of them with an already big artist, J Balvin) after his debut and Peso had his first smash this year ('X 100pre' was released after "I Like It" and Peso did much better numbers) so it's not a fair comparison (for context, 'X 100pre' did 31% of this album's numbers and 'GÉNESIS' 63%).

Bad Bunny - 'Un Verano Sin Ti': 23 tracks

Morgan Wallen - 'One Thing at a Time': 36 tracks.

Peso Pluma - 'GÉNESIS': 14 tracks.

Do the math.

And look, I'm not about to knock on artists that put more tracks on their albums than the more universal/traditional (so to speak) releases, Peso released just hours ago a deluxe version of 'GÉNESIS' with two of the previously released tracks mentioned and a new one with Grupo Frontera ("TULUM"), which numbers will not count towards this week's chart since its tracking is complete. So if you're able to make it cohesive, great, and that is able to be done for example like with the classic Smashing Pumpkins album, 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' which has 28 tracks and that was before streaming.

The thing is Peso released a great, cohesive 14-track album that really did solid numbers in the streaming era and that's facts. Period.

It's impressive and he's been slaying for years now and he won't back down. He's not even doing massive promo like the other acts :rip:

Yeah totally different demographics. Morgan isnt less successful cause his fans dont buy albums. Albums sales absolutely dont mean anything in 2023.

Its a cool bonus, but its not needed

US really saved Kelly from a tragic flop as she debuted outside Top 30 everywhere else.

Us is the biggest market sis and she didn't promote anywhere else. Hell she didn't even get to really promote in the US either because of the strike. 53k is amazing for a 41yr old woman in pop in todays market. Artist like Avril and Carrie did only 30k with promo

Kelly having a talk show probably helped with the numbers because people watch her daily.

I meant that people watch her show daily (well before the strike at least) so for a lot of people, she is on their mind at least once a day.

I’m not sure how that point could be lost on that user so often, but there we go. She’s had The Voice and her talk show as consistent promo to remind the GP that she is a singer.

Lmao

She still didn't promote on either and is gonna open with 22k more then ur fav

So what your saying is people need to be reminded Carrie's a singer? Stop making excuses. It's been 6 years since Kelly released an album. Carrie had 3 albums back to back a Christmas album then right after a Christian album then right after she released the new album. On top of her singing Sunday Night Football PLUS promo. Even after all that it was still only 31k :rip:

if what your saying is Kelly is more revelant in 2023 then yes you are correct

As a singer, Carrie is absolutely more relevant as she can still tour arenas and is going to be headlining three concerts with Guns N’ Roses this summer. But no one is bringing up Carrie here so I’m not sure what you’re trying to gain here.

Kelly is definitely the bigger public figure.

Lmfao you need help you still trying to use carrie can tour and Kelly can't when she chose not to

Please show us any proof saying Kelly can't tour

53k very little promo compared to 31k promo says otherwise Kelly is the relevant one

Carrie did not promote as much as you’re saying. Idk what the obsession is.

I’m glad KC has good numbers. I’m sure it would have had a bigger opening if she had her talk show to promote the new music and every late night talk show to perform. But I’m sure she’ll do promo when the strike is over… and maybe she’ll release that deluxe version too. 👀  The album is back at #1 on iTunes right now. ITunes isn’t what it used to, but it definitely is a great thing for Kelly!

umm... didn't she tease new music months ago on her show? and then officially announce the album and singles on the show? and perform them on the show? that's all promotion

Do you not know the difference between single promo and album promo?

Ummmmm that was back in April and

was for her single the only time she sang anything from the album as far as promo goes. Clearly not release week promo. It's not rocket science the gp aren't like stans lmao

She canceled her performance on The Voice to support writers. Also was gonna release the concert on tv didnt do that either. BIg promo strategy for her talk show and others got canceled due to everything shutting down

The only big show she did was The Today Show

No you brought her up first directly in the response to mine, when I responded to how she gets unlimited exposure from her talk show. What is your issue? The selective memory. Wish I could have it. :jonny5:

We also don't even know Kelly's full sales yet

Tried to upset Gunna and almost his entire album is still charting on Apple's Top 100, plus fukumean is going to be a staple through the Fall.

Gunna made the better album
