This.

And she was very much accepted/loved by Black folks — both artists and GP (see: her getting invited to many Black artist tributes, including Whitney).  So I don’t necessarily consider her appropriating Black culture.  She lowkey one of us lolllll.

No she's not. Not at all. Her voice is cute, she is not a black person and the community didn't listen to her like that. Gwen, even Brit, if anything was someone the community saw as a cookout attendee.

All of this is in this user head. Christina was very well accepted in the black community. I couldn’t imagine just straight up lying like this :rip:

…I gave literal examples of Black artists that requested that she perform tributes  at various award shows…to honor Black artists.  Whitney, James Brown, Aretha, Patti, etc.  :celestial5:

Her peers have never gotten that, especially not Gwen or Brit.

Earlier in her career if Xtina did an R&B album (ie, Stripped era), she totally could’ve crossed over.  Only other that could’ve done that was JT.  But def none of the women (outside of Pink — which was kinda an anomaly b/c she technically started as R&B, lol).

I don’t know who you’re speaking for but the black community do not claim Xtina. Next

The black community claims Britney more than they ever did Xtina. I don't even think the latinx community even claims her.

I’m talking about musically, and I gave concrete examples.  So, believe what you please :michael: lol.

And I’m a Britney fan more than Xtina fan, but I’m just simply stating a fact…re:tribute invites.

Who said that.gif?
The black community doesn't claim most of ATRL's white faves and definitely not Britney, especially after this:

“Britney Spears is branded RACIST after she singled out only black artists in a post saying Kevin Federline 'raised her boys with more weed than Ludacris, 50 Cent, Jay Z and Puff Daddy combined' as their feud over sons intensifies “

Also Xtina's extreme tan and hairstyles were not it but every celebrity was a culture vulture at that time.
