ayanda Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 In my country the hoops you have to go through just to watch a show plus the download option on some shows is not available so I just went back to my Netflix
poki Posted June 22, 2023 Author Posted June 22, 2023 Yeah it looks like most of these are from India. They also lost 300K subs in the US, but obtained 1M subs worldwide. https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/disney-plus-subscribers-q2-earnings-1235607524/ Netflix's crackdown on password shares apparently caused a growth in their subs so looks like that 300K is folks who had to choose between Disney and Netflix.
Ophelia Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 (edited) I work at D+ A few European countries have launched D+ last year and client's Yearly subs were ending in June 2023, they were cancelling their subs to not get cyclically charged with Monthly price. That may be the reason, we were getting hundreds of calls for 3 weeks asking to cancel their sub so they can resubscribe with Yearly plan again D+ is safe and stable and Spoiler Chromatica Ball special is coming Spoiler i'm projecting Edited June 22, 2023 by Ophelia

Badgalbriel Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Netflix will always be the default streaming service. These companies should start closing down their services and sending all of their movies to Netflix 4

Alldeezy Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 weird I much prefer Disney+ Over netflix tbh. netflix (without ads) is like $20 a per f*month at least Disney+ for AUS it's affordable! Disney+ would never put ads to make people pay more! I mean we got FREE streaming platforms with better shows. idk how disney+ is seriously losing.

Solaria Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Maybe its just me, but I keep noticing more and more that I only use streaming services for shows I have history with/ have watched many times already. I rarely start new shows. Like my streaming services are nothing more than dvd storage places for me rn for my fave shows

I'd love to watch legally new Black Mirror and give the creators the money they f*cking deserve, but Netflix plans are a joke. Literally every other service gives you 4k+Dolby Atmos CHEAPER than they give you 720p (at least in my country's pricing) not to mention their acc sharing issues

Madonno Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 The quality of their new shows is just poor. I MEAN... POOOOOR. They have money, should invest more in quality That stupid format of series with 6 to 8 episodies, and episodes between 30 to 40 minutes is awful. Needs to end NOW 1
Talento Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 (edited) Well even their Marvel & Star Wars stuff has been struggling. She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Werewolf By Night, Boba Fett, Andor, Obi Wan and even the last season of Mandalorian all just came and went I feel like the Disney brand is low-key tarnished worldwide and it's their own fault for releasing so much bad/mediocre content. Walk_Away21 Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 The only people I know who have it are Disney adults or people with young kids.

Because there's no advantage of it being cheaper if there's nothing to watch Especially if you're not into Marvel/Star Wars. Then all you're left with is Pinocchio and Peter Pan and Wendy tier of god awful content. 2
Haus-Of_Mck Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 They were about to raise the prices here in Latin America, I never used Disney+ there's barely new content so I cancelled my subscription

Just a Gay on ATRL Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Re-making their old content over and over again and giving generally declining quality offerings from Marvel and Star Wars has really damaged their brand. They need to focus on re-building Marvel & Star Wars, stop re-making the old animated classics, & make more other original films to put on D+. Encanto is a perfect example of this.
