Very misleading. This current era includes some artists releasing whole EPs in the first tracking week to boost a chart position. In the 2000s or even 2010s those songs were usually released over time and couldn't be used to influence the chart position. I can also bet that they're using remix albums, club remixes and live albums that have less than 10 million streams. They never compared to some of the original versions.

Right - and like, she's THE biggest artist in the history of Billboard's Dance/Electronic charts, and her remix albums are pretty well respected. Dawn of Chromatica, for instance, was commended for bringing hyperpop and underground electronic sounds to a broader audience.

 

More importantly, a lot of her remixes are really good!

BMS also had remixes to go #1 and Cuff it too for Top 10 peak.

 

Everyone is doing it nowadays. It's a good way. AH used remixes in 3rd week.

 

Bey ,Nicki and Taylor can sell remixes others can't. Not a big deal imo.

 

Even AIW had remixes here and there to keep it at #1

BMS went was in the top 10 for weeks and went #1 before a remix. Cuff It spent multiple weeks in the top 10 before a remix. 

 

If everyone supposedly does it,, there'd be no need to make the distinction after several were accused of quick remixes with discounts and no type of elevation to the song for the sake of a high chart debut. Some remixes are legit for fun, make sense or come way after the fact.
