I actually like her and am very excited for CP. 

 

BUT...

 

I do feel she needs to do away with this "perfectionist" spiel. 

 

Her output is constantly strong (especially visually), so it does make sense. But, unavoidably, she leaves herself open to critique when (for whatever reason) her output is so sparse. 

 

She's over-internalized this Beyonce "perfectionist" angle, which makes sense as that's her idol. But at the same time, it works for Bey because she literally has so much to show for it. Until Mani does, it's all a bit of a moot point. 

 

Also, it just makes everything a little too "serious" and stiff at a time when the girls are thriving for being loose and carefree. The "perfectionism" will (and has been) showing in her output. Her focus should just be on keeping the momentum going.

The amount of hate/"critiques"/whatever you want to call it she gets is ridiculous. She can obviously deliver, and it seems clear that something behind the scenes is responsible for the delays (read: label drama).

 

Candy Paint can still smash - it's perfect for radio/the club/streaming playlists. If/when she releases, the only people who will complain about it being "an old leaked song" are extremely online ppl who ruined the song for themselves by begging for the leak/overanalyzing an unfinished demo. Excited for a proper release + hopefully a choreo-heavy video.

Otherwise CP woulda been out long ago and clearly they're pretty confident in the song if its still the next single after all this time.
