:biblio: hmm... this is definitely the deja vu of the era i guess. the 'Heartless' to the 'Blinding Lights'..

Good thing is that this song will debut #1 so she already has that under her belt. Late July she needs to drop another song and mke sure it's more upbeat than this to secure a summer hit. Vampire definitely is hitting but yeah i agree, it doesnt seem like it will have the same longevity of SOUR singles

if it is an upbeat song, kinda hoping that the next single she releases is that one mentioned in the vogue interview about the impossible expectations set on idealized young women. Don’t get me wrong… love vampire but i think gp is looking for something a little different thematically from her and this song seems to be about another completely different core facet of her experience as a young woman in the spotlight. Also the interviewer said it sounded like taylor swift meets kathleen hanna which intrigues me cause i’m a sucker for pop-punk.

Speak Now TV tracks won't do ****. They wont have radio.

Last Night and Drake new album are still the main competition for "vampire"

The #1 is on lock now

But it's also for sure not staying at #1

on lock, a #1 is a #1 :clap3:

as i've said, even if it is a 1 week #1 it isn't bad at all. deja vu peaked at #3 and still that song ended up being so loved, the song not having the same chart trajectory as dl & g4u doesn't matter. and i'm predicting vampire won't probably be the only hit from GUTS so we have lots of things to look forward to. the era is off to a good start.

Yo wtf Radio points are really that important huh? I just saw Calm Down’s 3k sales and 13M streams but is predicted to stay at #4 because of its 92M radio :dies: . We need radio for this to stay in the Top 10 until the album release. :dancehall:

The Interscope curse is real. :coffee2: the massive debut that can't be replicated in the following eras.

The song isn’t a mega smash but it is still performing well.  Should sit comfortable in the top 10 for a long time (unless radio drops it).

If radio keeps going this strong, I can see iz returning to #1 during album's release week.

This is not what she needed as a sophomore debut single... it is a poor Driver's License/Deja Vu mashup. I am sure it'll grow on me, but after her perfect single choices.... this just... didn't do it for me

People are greedy. Drivers license was one of those once in a while mega hits that rarely get replicated. Only a few people are able to do it… and it sucks because even if songs are smashes they’ll be comparing it to that one rare mega smash.
