Lady Claire Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Shook it's from Jon Bellion's team, i was almost sure it was MNEK... that sound is very him

Lady Claire Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 This def has potential but her team needs to go all out with promo and playlisting. Even though she was from LM, she's considered a brand new artist and has to get her name out there I'll be pissed if they don't give it a proper push bc sonically it has all it takes to be a hit in the UK

They (and Leigh-Anne herself) have done an excellent job of keeping her socials active whilst she was gearing up to launch. Setting up a newsletter, a discord server where she interacts with fans, YouTube/insta/tik tok posts, promoting the official teaser over all socials. I’ve got no doubt in my mind that she has the best possible team around her. In fact, she’s the only one of the three that has done a good job of keeping themselves active and present on socials regarding their music career ddd 1

I agree that this won’t do much in the US, though. I think it’s smart for her to start building her solo brand in the UK though as that’s where most of her fans are. The UK does not like it when our pop girls abandon us to pander to the USA ddd. Not sure if it’s just the TikTok sound but the production sounds weak imo. It’s more of a mixing thing. The vocals are way too far forward which makes it sound like they just took a mo3 and recorded vocals over them. The instruments are too far back. kick sounds weak. I’ll wait for full judgement maybe the TikTok sound altered the audio. She should’ve went to mnek over Jon Bellion as a producer for her first song if this is her sound she wants to go with but they chorus are repetitive and her voice doesn’t have enough grit to stand out. that being said. Hope she still does well (as well as the other 3). Although what you said about the uk girl groups does make sense. My only thing is I hope she strays more away from the LM sound. Imo there’s no point of going solo if your going to stick to the same sound of the group.
Nashe Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Top 3 would be incredible, but hoping for top 10 AT LEAST. She doesn't need to crash & burn, let them build it step by step for a successful album launch in Autumn.
J Legend X Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 The way this has 9 pages on atrl... sleigh ! also, they have power... like LM3 has power, so I wonder if they are recording promo things in NY, the video in Istambul etc... why is this sounding so UK ? like I feel they same happened with LM, they could've just released something more "global' and STILL get the support by the UK, and who knows even "influence" the Pop music in the UK to a different direction... so this applies for this solo debut.

It would be stupid to totally alienate Little Mix fans, like that’s a pre-built core fan base that are ready & waiting to support you, doing a total musical 180 wouldn’t do her any favours. Besides, Little Mix have only one song that is vaguely garage influenced, so it’s not like this is a carbon copy of a stereotypical Little Mix song I’m sure she’ll establish a clear identity outside of the group when the album drops

I feel like she's got a more UK-sounding track so she doesn't alienate her core fandom, but it's still very different from what Little Mix could've released so she's still branding herself as a solo artist, and she probably has a second single ready to go, which I'm guessing would be a more RnB-leaning track with a collab designed to smash overseas
