stephen1108 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I just heard the R&B remix before the album version (I forgot to check this out ), and I like the R&B mix more. It's very 2000s-mid 2000s R&B.
mrmarrero Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 are these girls haunted to fail? maybe the GP just like them as a group?....

Well the 2 that have released aren’t doing it right. Jesy decided to go all collateral damage and release a forced dated song instead of a ballad/mid tempo song that told us who SHE was and what she’s about. Image was also a massive issue. Leigh Anne…again wrong song! DSL doesn’t set her apart & is not the banger she thinks it is. It’s also nothing severely different to the LM music. I think that’s why Perrie & Jade are taking their sweet time. Perrie has stated that she’s trying to find her sound & that’s a good sign to me. I think she will have the breakout solo career out of all the girls.

This song is bad & they refuse to move on to the next song is astonishing. Honesty, at this point I’m starting to think theses girls should just stick together both Jesy & now Leigh music is disappointing. Yeah... I was such a big fan of them as a group but this is just showing that they just aren't interesting enough individually to go solo Spoiler Don't get your hopes up about the other two's music either

As much as i love them ... i think this will go nowhere There are so many factors .. the agism , the fact that they time is passing and all the hype is gone , the fact that they were known as little mix and not as individuals. Its not like the Spice Girls that everyone knew everything about each member . With little mix was different . Also to be completely honest LM peaked on Glory Days .. 7-8 years passed since then . As far as we dont want to admit it , the hype is completely gone Im not even sure a reunion how successful it would be at this point

"fly girl" just became the group's 1st top 40 hit Additionally Jorja Smith is having great success (Be Honest, Little Things). Doechii is having a hit w "What It Is (Block Boy)"
tbhmatt Posted August 5, 2023 Author Posted August 5, 2023 I honestly think the label hyping her up as the “next global superstar” was a massive misstep… setting her up to fail in comparison ddd Their best strategy moving forward is to just release more music, she can’t carve out a niche without any material. Continue releasing music, scale back the ambition and focus on building at least a decent sized U.K. fan base to sustain a touring career in smaller venues. It’s great that she and her team have big ambitions, but honestly let’s be realistic. None of them are going to reach those levels of commercial success. At least give us more music to enjoy ddd 1

They should have said that they are tired and they want to enjoy their life , it would have been more honest at least 3

The Slayer Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 (edited) I personally enjoy all the solo LM releases so far, idc how they chart as long as I enjoy them. I know to not expect charting with Jesy now but the music, to me is still great. Obsessed with 'Bad Thing' and her voice. I love DSL, but I do agree it is not too dissimilar from Little Mix's music. I also agree Leigh's team were hyping her up waaaay too much and the stupidness of sending her to the US so soon after the release?! Still no performance... No This Morning/Good Morning Britain/Loose Women appearance... It is astonishing. I'm sure she'll be on there for the next single but it's weird she wasn't there for her debut. I feel like Jade and Perrie will do the best. I feel like Jade will always deliver for the gays and Perrie has the most chance of breaking through. I'm excited for all four's music, no matter how it does commercially Ofc i'd love to them to all get hits. A reunion will be very successful, but I hope it is not until 5 years or so, it'd be too soon to do it any earlier and I want to see the girls individually. Edited August 6, 2023 by The Slayer

They literally scored amidst a pandemic three top 10s in an 8 months time-span - hardly a simple revival. Let’s not forget that BUS went top 10 and is a Platinum record and Holiday becoming a stable moderate top 20 hit. Between Us songs flopped literally because they were the 6th-8th singles of a joint run with the Confetti era. Sure the GD days are long gone, but if we consider how things went down with LM5 the Confetti era was a great repeak. With that being said … I always said so and I’m gonna repeat it once more: they were meant to be successful as a group. And the key to their long-lasting success was that instead of trying to carve out Beys and Zayns they went on as a unit bringing pure talent. Hence why Sweet Melody became #1 10 years into their career (they have MUCH better quality songs in their records). As much as I love them and I wish them the best (let’s say that a #4 and an #11 peak so far don’t look that bad at least) I’m not expecting them to pull huge numbers. The only one I could see having some more success is Pez due to the fact I’m expecting her to go the Lewis Capaldi route sound-wise (big Pop vocal numbers). Jade is busy finding hits and I think she will surprise us somehow, but if I look at it from an objective perspective they have lost plenty of time already. Leigh needs the ******* live promo, but when I mentioned that earlier in the day everybody was defending her team saying they had a plan … turns out me suggesting a more European-focuses approach probably wouldn’t have been that bad considering the reactions now 1
The Slayer Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Acoustic performances of DSL and the next single are coming in 2 weeks. She's performing a couple songs for Capital - she confirmed it is an acoustic set.
tbhmatt Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 Yeah, she teased the second single on her Instagram stories. She posted the snippet at the end of the Dont Say Love video with the 👂 emoji. I think there’s rumours that the video was shot in Lagos?

WERKER Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 The girls were starting to simmer down success wise prior to SM and Jesy’s departure but the release and chart performance of SM / Confetti / HBA / KM was showing that the girls were able to potentially repeak at GD status. HBA was huge for them. Sure the BU singles performed badly but as previously mentioned, they were overplayed that era and there was no push due to pregnancy. A LM3 era would have performed well with push and promo as would have continued collabs. To suggest a reunion wouldn’t be popular is ridiculous, they have never struggled to tour or sell out their tours and their last tour was the best received yet. I believe Leigh and her team have made mistakes since release and focusing on the US was wrong. I do have a feeling she’ll struggle to get a top 10 peak again and that’s ok, we will support her. Jade and Perrie will have the support ant first also, just hope the wait isn’t too long. Just hope that if majority do underperform that it was just a hiatus and they release further material. I think there is an audience for continued albums into their mid to late 30s.
WEEKND Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 She looks old and not very pretty in the video imo. the song is not bad but the video is horrible. A complete mess. 1
