perrie is the most popular girl in the group. she was always the front woman and the one that stood out the most. Jade and Leigh Anne always felt like the backup. If anyone is going to have some sort of success it will be Ms. Edwards.

Perrie is the most popular and I do like her but she feels like the one with the least substance.

I think Jade has the most drive/ambition in the group which will translate into her solo career, even if she doesn't end up doing well commercially I'd be happy with her taking a Tinashe route and releasing frequently with quality music. I think she'll be releasing long after the other girls because she loves it so much.

If Perrie pulls a Jojo and does some white girl R&B ballads she can definitely have success. All she gotta do is record 10 tracks, do a collab with Dave and Stormzy and have a solid producer. She shouldnt even focus on the US cause its not gonna work. I honestly dont know what Jade's gonna do... Hopefully it wont be as generic as Dont Say Love cause if that is the case, she will flop into oblivion too.

One false start can be amended. They should’ve anticipated the rollout in May and have done real promo. Once again: radio promo only works for airplay purposes. The GP won’t listen to 10-15 mins of interviews, or in any case it won’t traslate into sales for most of it.

As I have always said (and I’m one of the biggest LM fans here), the three of them are probably not going to do big things solo. One can always hope, but they worked fully as a group unit. And now lots of time is passing since the hiatus, so it was kind of expected things would have been rockier. Jade seems to be lacking a bit behind with the recording, maybe Perrie can surprise with a great mid-tempo / ballad a la Lewis Capaldi. Whoever kicks promo off in the fall is the one who’s going to win.

I do think the book launch can help, though.

Because of Zayn! Jesy was the only one known in America.

I’m still surprised they didn’t book tv slots ahead of the release, or chose to drop it when they had this in place. UK is still one of the few places this type of promo still impacts in overall performance. Pink’s second single took off on the strength of a massive press tour there including radio, TV and BBC live performance. This whole american tour, talking on MTV america feels soo weird. It’s very outdated promo for America

Just to be clear, there was no ‘lead’ singer in Little Mix and nobody was a ‘back-up’. All four girls were equal and that is what made Little Mix so special.

This is going a bit too much off the rails :rip: Leigh-Anne is not over, arguing who will be bigger between Perrie vs Jade when we don't know the route either is going to or their plans (yes Perrie is more known to the GP but Jade knows the industry much better than she or Leigh-Anne do)... Sit back and just support the girls please :rip:

Lol Let’s be honest.. If Perrie was the most popular it’s because she dated Zayn and is the hot white girl of the group.

She strikes me as another Rita Ora. No identity. She’ll throw everything out and see what sticks. Jade is the one to watch.

It is true that there was never a pushed 'leader' in Little Mix, but to be honest, that was largely do to Perrie's modesty and good personality. She is easily their best vocalist on top of being the most famous member due to her relationship with Zayn, if Perrie was a more self interested person she could have saught a more prominent role or even done a Camila.

I still think that her incredible vocals and fame advantage will translate into her being the most successful, but lets hope Leigh-Anne can find her way back from this single's chart collapse, and I hope Jade can find a niche too.

I was kind of hoping they would forge out different niches with Perrie going for mainstream success, Jade focusing on the gay bops, and maybe Leigh-Leigh-Anne focusing on acting or something like that, that is what tends to work with girl groups. If they all try and do the same thing only one of them will succeed.

All of the Spice Girls had some solo success so that shouldn’t always be the case. Until we hear full albums from these ladies there’s no reason that any of them should be counted out. Saying that Leigh-Anne should stick to acting just totally disregards her singing talent and clear drive for solo music success, if you don’t like the song just say that.

I dont even want to sound discouraging but she should just stop trying. Its not gonna work anyways. She had a good run with the girl group

This is mean. She can still see success even if she doesn’t do big numbers.

Im sorry for my Leigh but im not surprised

They struggled even with their Between Us singles to have a hit

They each need a true smash hit in their hands to smash(aka a Havana)

DSL is a cute radio friendly song , its not enough unfortunately

Yeah DSL is cute and I personally got a bit caught up in the initial hype, but it’s not as good as I thought it was. I can see why it’s not doing very well.

Really sad as I’m really rooting for the girls.

Had some time with this now. The verses hit but the chorus is such a let down. Kinda ruins the replay value. Better luck next time. This one is more of an album track for me.

The song is cute but there's too much hubris coming from her team. Warning bells started ringing as soon as they introduced her as the "next global superstar". Like let's start humble and focus more on getting a cute domestic hit before trying to launch a huge international career, something no UK girlband member has ever been able to do.

the switchery in here :rip:

in fairness, yeah i haven't been coming back to this but it is aa cute enough introduction, hope they don't wait to long for single 2

I still like the song regardless of the floppage :giraffe:

Very interesting how everything turned out with her debut singled. Because just a year or so when jesy was releasing hers ….Lea Ann  was behind the scenes sabotaging jesy and trying to turn people against her
