Leigh-Anne - “Don’t Say Love”

Recommended Posts

Can I just say that regardless of what you all think of Jesy now she was and is a huge part of Little Mix. I loved LM3 at the end and would have loved a full LM3 era BUT Little Mix would not have been as successful as they were without Jesy. Jesy and Perrie were the most known members, they had the most  name recognition however both are constantly overlooked on this forum.

Regardless, Leigh is my focus right now and I just hope she can pick up a bit of momentum on Spotify. I don’t care about a huge single performance but a decent chart run would secure her roll out and release and it has been painful seeing how underperformances halt and delay eras.

No Hot Hits UK? Or when do they usually update the playlist?

The audacity of posting that rant and then accusing someone else of losing their mind, over a single sentence. :lmao: Jesy hasn't had any hits as a solo artist, so denying that Nicki Minaj played any part in getting that peak before it bombed off the charts is hilariously delusional.

You're right though, this thread is about Leigh-Anne and not her former bandmate who treated her like trash and encouraged racist bandwagon hate against her.

As a black women, I hate seeing Jesy being brought up aswell. Yes she was in the group but nothing will erase the racist taunting and backlash she caused to Leigh Anne and now thanks to her, she gets harassed by Barbs on twitter to this day :deadbanana2:

Deleted, I didn't want it to be too negative but the Spotify performance is not giving.

Maybe have this attitude with Leigh's blackfishing bestfriend and Perrie's sister.

Also lets not forget the colorism and homophobia from Leigh's husband.

So I suggest you tone down this fake outrage towards Jesy, i'd understand if she said anything like the below:

Fy0nigjXwAI3Q0y?format=jpg&name=large

Fy0nigkWIAIKrFr?format=jpg&name=large

Fy0nigiWwAobkap?format=jpg&name=medium

Fy0niglXwAYBp4k?format=jpg&name=large

I'm a person of colour, Jesy looks like most british white girls with a tan, however yes the BOYZ video was too far. Also how are you racist if you're trying to be black? that literally makes no sense. She hates black people so much she wants to look black? Weird.

Anyway, back to just Leigh-Anne.

At least she’s on the playlist! I don’t know if most people just shuffle them but that’s what I do so will hopefully get us back in the chart.

'Looks like most white british girls with a tan?' 'How are you racist if you're trying to be black?'

First of, are you even black? If you are a person of colour you would know being black is a completely different experience to being any other ethnic minority, we have different cultures, history and issues - so that doesn't hold much weight at all. Secondly, 'Looks like most white british girls with a tan?' - I grew up around Essex (Aka the capital of the 'chav' and the 'TOWNIE' culture, and no - her tan is more darker than majority of the girls I saw living there and the fact so many people thought she was biracial until the 'Boys' controversy says alot. Most of the girls would have oranger complexions at best, not a colour that literally looked as dark as her 2 WOMEN OF COLOUR bandmates.

Thirdly, 'Also how are you racist if you're trying to be black?'

How IGNORANT must you be to say this if you actually listened to any of the backlash she received from Black British people, MNEK and Leigh-Anne herself. Trying to 'be black' is insulting especially if you consider what us black people go through everyday in society. She as a white english women who is extremely privileged, able to wear her dark tan and 'try to be black' alongside her curly hair, dreads and sing about her love of 'bad' boys (singing about how hood or taboo, alongside black men in her music video) and wash it all off at the end of the day and live life without racism. White black women and black men are literally seen as criminals and 'ghetto' by British society if we wear our cultural things. She's able to go back to being her white, pale self after call the cosplay is done while us black people aren't able to do that and have to face the racism and colourism that comes with our skin tone. There are ways to appreciate black culture without doing cosplay i.e Jojo and she never apologised for this.

It's also insulting to think me and  two british black people are looking for 'fake outrage' when we are bringing up a real issue that affects us EVERYDAY. There is no 'fake outrage' when it comes to bringing up racism that was perpetuated against mixed women. Also we can multi task and call out everyone who blackfishes

Brilliant post. That Jesy fan is always trying it.

All that off-topic discussion about everyone’s actions besides Leigh-Anne shouldn’t even be allowed in this thread. The people around Leigh-Anne, including her husband, who’ve said and done shitty things definitely messed up. But, so did Jesy. However, Jesy messed up in the public eye and definitely paid for it; she literally doesn’t even have a label right now. The fact of the matter is, Leigh-Anne has done nothing wrong and the song is a bop. And we need the audience to stream so mama doesn’t flop
