So Little Mix split up so Leigh Anne could release one of the most uninspired tracks of the year? This doesn't sound nice at all; it sounds like a leftover Alexandra Burke track from her Heartbreak On Hold era

Sounds nothing at all like an Alexandra track. It actually sounds exciting and different for what’s played on radio at the moment - allbeit not revolutionary but it is needed for Leigh to be able to branch out into riskier genres.

How are we out? :rip:

I was going to save my digital copies until the 2nd week but might need to use them this week :deadbanana4:

Just hope Leigh continues to enjoy and throw herself into this and doesn’t become disheartened and that the roll out happens as planned.

Falling out of the UK Spotify charts on day 2 is undeniably terrible, but the fact it wasn't added to many big playlists will have hindered it.

I would have thought Little Mix's fanbase would have kept it afloat though, unless the fanbase has diminished a lot too.

Oh no…

She needs to book a tv performance asap.

I'm ngl uk locals do not know who Leigh-Anne or Jade are. Jesy and Perrie were the ones people knew by name (for better or for worse *cough* balegdeh *cough*). If people hear the song on the radio or see her on tv and think "oh that's that woman from Little Mix" they might check out the song, but only their die hard fans would've been checking for this release.

I think this song does have the potential to be a hit, but she's really starting from scratch unfortunately.

Out already? Damn.

Also Little Mix is popular here but I don't think any of the girls were ever really popular individually, they don't have any star that is giving the 'Cheryl'. It is very rare for a UK girl group to even have a successful breakout member, hell even pop boy groups struggle. Robbie, Harry and Cheryl have to be one of the few exceptions I can think of? Also the girls not really having any solo activities in Little Mix probably contributed to their lack of solo fame, I think Cheryl going on X Factor even when GA was starting to slow down help catapult her, Little Mix never really had that.

Yeah, I was never under any illusion that this was going to be an instant huge smash hit (it’s incredibly difficult for girl group members to go big solo at the best of times, let alone 11 years after your group debuted and nearly 3 years after your group went on hiatus)

I just hope that she still gets to put the music out there, cause it’s going to be an uphill battle to get the kind of commercial success her label seem to want for her

Not you forgetting Harry Styles. :toofunny2: but I do agree, I don't think people are invested in the LM members individually, but some promo might help with that.

I blocked that man out of mind months ago from the amount of times my sister spammed his new album :gaycat7:I edited my comment to include him :rip:

Also I completely forget he came from 1D, his solo impact is insane.

Yeah Cheryl used to debut her lead singles on X factor and with iTunes pre-sales it helped to give her good debuts. Most of her singles outside out Fight for this Love and Call my name had terrible longevity though. She tried it again when she came back in 2018 without realising how much different the landscape is with streaming.

The Spice Girls all got at least one hit but they were massive and each had a solo brand within the group.

Rachel Stevens had a decent albeit short career after going solo from S club 7.

I don't recall any of the Saturdays getting hits, but they were probably the smallest of the UK GG.

Mutya from the Sugababes got a couple of top 10s but I'm not sure they were really hits.

Alesha Dixon initially bombed after leaving Mis-Teeq but she had a couple of hits after she won Strictly.

Can't think of any others off the top of my head

Fact is we’ve always said it (at least I was part of this “we”): LM worked as a group.

I was totally expecting the girls not to be faring THAT well as solo artists, especially considering they’re approaching their 30s. Now, falling out of the top 200 is disastrous and not what I was expecting. I’m sure it can rise, but she really needs to put in all the effort and it seems like she’s ready to do so.

The song itself is good and it’s calling for longevity. My only worry is that Warner was really expecting her to pop off … and now it seems like it’s gonna be a long ride. For sure it’s better to grow progressively rather than peak first day and then disappear (see Jesy), but tbf I can see why this is going to take longer.

There's defo ageism involved too, taking a look at how old Harry, Cheryl and Robbie were when they popped off, Harry was 23, Cheryl was 24 and Robbie was 22 which would make radios more likely to play them and more 'younger' people appealing to them more. Even Mutya, Rachel were around those ages when their solos launched. It sucks :(

out? seems they left it too long to release

Down to #35 on Apple Music and down to #2 on iTunes….. it’s over :eli:

In all seriousness, this will surely have a small rebound from tomorrow onwards. She needs more airplay before streams can catch up!

I think it’s time for autoplay:gaycat5:

Totally agreed. Which sucks because it’s literal non-sense.

🤣

OUT is really bad though

I wonder where it can chart on the official charts if its nowhere on Spotify ... at 60?

Only radio can save this i fear

If they somehow put this on heavy rotation

Honestly the song is not my style at all

I recon is a great UK sound , but i dont feel like listening ( even though the song is stuck in my head ) and my Leigh is my fav little mix gurl

Good news incoming later :coffee:...

BUT...

It's clear the physicals are what will give her leg up.

Hopefully it builds into an organic hit when radio, payola, and performance promo kicks in.
