She had supporters and she continues to, not to mention there are a lot of people who have come around after more details came out. but regardless, it’s not important how many people support her or don’t, painting her as some niche microcelebrity with “no supporters” really doesn’t change the fact that she was abused by that man plain and simple.

It's possible and a reality that a woman can both be a victim of abuse AND stand by her own abuser or see nothing wrong in the actions of other abusers. As a child of a DV household, my heart breaks for Rihanna for what Chris did to her and I have sympathy for her why she kept going back so many years, but it's also gross to uplift another woman's tormentor. 4
